You do have an internal slave right? Sounds like that is the culprit. If so you have to pull the trans back to get it. But you might get lucky, I had one that was leaking that turned out to be a faulty O-ring.

No my friend.....if you are spraying carb cleaner and it is running........YOU ARE RUNNING ON CARB CLEANER....you are missing my point......you have a fuel delivery problem.....the fact that the motor runs when you manually introduce fuel to it shows that. Don't run it on carb cleaner.....probably not good for it. -

No you are running on the cleaner you spayed in.......otherwise it would keep running........it has somthing to do with fuel delivery........if you don't believe me take 2 or 3 table spoons of fuel.....dump it down the TB.....or 86 maybe you have a carb? dump a bit of fuel in wait 30 secs....try and start it.....does it fire,,,,run,,,,then die? -
Nice  love the floor matt in the background....

You clutch is not connected hydraulically (by fluid) to your trans....from your description I am guessing it is an internal slave.....? My last guess is that the master is worn.......this is an option since you have to pull it anyway.....http://comancheclub.com/topic/41742-clutch-master-rebuild-mod/.......

I do not know it would make things easier.....if I remember right some 44's (maybe on Scouts) were even more off set....like (I could be wrong) 1.25"-1.5"
-
I think if you take a tape to it you will find the pinion is a bit off set..( not perfectly centerd)....that would make the ring off set and by defaut the carrier...so one shaft is longer. . :MJ 1: . That might not make sence but i think you will get my drift?

Sorry I should have made myself clear with the above.... the 15 is used with the motors listed the 2.5 was a 5 :D

Help re-installing cylinder head
yxmj replied to mjtjnj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you have the head off.....Get a known "Straight Edge", a carpenters square springs to mind, and check you block and your head....a gap of even half a MM can be cause for concern. On the other hand.....there is a manufacture who makesa a thicker HD gasket for the 2.5....maybe that would help...... . :MJ 1: . -
Not your Brother Call 911 and turn yourself in....your messed up

Give up .....your done.....the fact that you posted this question on this site.....and called it a "CAR" site shows she can ....and will..... do better than you.....leave her alone .....

If we are only counting Licenced and on the Road.....7.........The spares in the back rotate

I think he is asking about the trans to transfercase connection.....the motor would not be in the equation.....but your years are correct. That was when the trans to tcase spline count changed - for the 4.0. When the spline count changed for the 2.5, I don't know. If he gets a NP231 from an early 4.0, that will have the 21 splines. I think you are missing my point here partner.......They did not build specific AX15's for I 4"s and I6's.....it is the same trans (some bellhousings could be differnt)...... The OP asked about the Trans to T-case join.....adding motors into the eqation just muddy's the waters...IMHO....now if you bring the AX5 into the equation that might clear up what you are thinking. (it would be different......) Here is some info to help http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np_nvg_input_gears.htm http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np231.htm

 If I could add,,,, take a couple of minutes and clean and inspect the leafs.....older ones have hairline cracks that the rust hides.....if you are going to do it make sure it lasts  . -
