Before you delve too deep in to the T-case.....If you still have the cad off..... why not set it on a box or a pail and connect the vacuum lines.....have a helper engage and disengage the 4x4...see if the cad is operating as it should.
-
How could you......there is no low rent district there.......
-
Any time spent in front of the mirror must be killer............
-
Wow.....for all your post I would think you were more aware of what was going on with your front end.......please tell us all you have A NONE CAD
-
Like said above the Cad is not mechanical and does not engage with a lever. if you look at it on you axle it has a small mounting plate on our axle with a vacuum actuator.......if you want to test it it is as simple as putting a pan under it removing it and giving it a simple bench test...4 bolts and remove and label the lines...the actuators are very sensitive so when on the bench,,,,,,,put a chunk of clean hose on and suck on it....does the fork move easy both ways.......that is the first test.

School Me On The Overhead Console Swap
yxmj replied to Minuit's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a factory one in a 1998 XJ sport and I just sold one out of a 98 XJ......on the compatible year XJ's the plug-ins for the harness are in the passenger side kick panel. I would assume that if you would want the trip computer and gas milage features to work you would need to have the corresponding computer running the functions of your MJ. The temp sensor would be needed as well. To be honest having one aside from the individual dome lights and the nifty sunglasses holder I rarely use the display for anything but a compass/thermometer. The thing that I alway thought humorous is that one of the features is a trip clock (time how long you are traveling)....so it has the capabilities to display time......BUT IT CANNOT BE SET UP AS A SIMPLE CLOCK.....you have to rely on your stereo for that.. :hmm: -
Ya ...someone had shown that in another thread http://comancheclub.com/topic/43158-we-have-it-north-of-the-49th-parallel-too/ Both these guys are wasting there time advertizing.....I don't care what anyone says....i buy and sell up here all the time....they have priced themselfs so far out of the market they are just setting themselfs up for a fall... . :MJ 1: .

Assortment Of Questions Regarding My 2.5L
yxmj replied to BryceOJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would not assume the gear ratio......lots of things could have been changed in 26 years.......even the tag that should be there could be wrong as to what is inside......be sure .....and at the same time do some maintainance.....jack up your rear and put it on stands....put a pan under your rearend and take off the diff cover and drain the fluid....your ratio will be stamped on your ring gear...cover back on and new gear oil....$10 worth of maintainance and no more guessing  FYI mine is a 2.5 AX5 with 4.11's amd I run 31" tires.....I have pulled many trailers.....had to downshift on the inclines but we made it. . :MJ 1: . -
Like Blue XJ said above...it is about the cool air. Thats why I cut the air box on the fender side away from the heat of the motor. If you look it, you also open it up also close to the headlight hole and a couple other openings that will draw cool are from outside.

The slang term for the mesh is "50 points".....I think that comes from the math that in one squar inch of material 50%+ is open. I got mine from a place I used to work that made corigated grills out of it for Versitile tractors. So I would assume a tractor JY would have some. People can bad mouth K&N all they want but if you are dillegent you can clean and oil your filter yourself and make it last for years.....
-
I have been modifying the stock air boxes on mine like this for quite some time and am happy with them. I use a K&N Filter and cut out the side(fender side) and cover it with mesh. The size of the hole is up to you. It adds more air flow than the stock opening while allowing protection and a stock look.

Since your in the same Provence ....IMHO ......i would gather up $400 and jump all over that....

Well if this one was $9400 http://comancheclub.com/topic/43038-why-is-this-at-8000/ I am not even going to comment on this guy…..if this is market value my truck just went up $5000.... . :MJ 1: . http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/winnipeg/jeep-comanche-for-sale/593573996?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

thanks guys, i was just wondering cause i've never seen black gears other than on my bosses truck but when we sprayed those, it came out silver (for the most part anyhow) but i think i'll do it again when i do my trans, unless is keeps leakin and i go the RTV gasket route; and yxmj, how'd i know ya would bring that up lol, no i didn't, i didn't have the MJ up in the air to spend the tires to count the teeth, nor did i have the time, i did this at work (since i get half off on everything and boss didn't care) and when i was finishing up it was an hour till closing, Redwolf ????? it is leaking??????do you have any type of gasket on the cover? And FYI if you had the cover off.....you would not need to "count the teeth" ,,,,,all you would need to do is read the numbers STAMPED IN THE RING GEAR.....

As you drive can you narrow the vibe down,,,,,front or back???? my next guess is control arm bushings........ :dunno:

Pic are nice answer one Question are the rims and tires balanced?
-
:agree: If your concerned buy some less expensive gear lube....fill it up and drive a few hunderd miles....then drain and clean again....this time add high end gear lube. Just out of curiosity since you had you diff cover off did you confirm your gear ratio? . :MJ 1: .

I stand by my previous post.....2 words of advice.... 1) to you.....careful you might blow a blood vessel ...... 2) to anyone else reading....if you have not figured it out for yourself.....a post count does not denote knowledge on any subject.....it just means you have a lot of time on your hands....
