  1. Ha Ha Ha  ......it could not squeal because of its absence...... For the OP.....short answer NO......You can add grease to the NEW one when you put it in.......
  2. You need to give more info what year Do you have a CAD The light in any year/set up in not the defining factor showing if 4x4 is engaged or disengaged....(I can make the light go on without a front driveshaft.....light says 4x4....pretty sure it isn't) If you do have a CAD.....my first best guess is to start there
  3. Unless you are trying to use one from a 4.0 or 2.5....they will not work on the V6
  4. Just a guess ....but if my memory is correct ...if it had a full console would there not be a small cut out in the carpet between the seats for mounting?
  5. I am pretty sure what you have is an xj console that someone "cut down" to fit. I would take a guess that you had a mini to start.....your carpet between the seats is my clue
  6. I run a 1998 xj 242 in a 92 YJ behind a stroker with 33" tires...i love it. Sorry all my conversions where with ax15's so I am not up to speed on aw4 spline count. There are others on here who have done it
  7. If you want it to work "factory" get a vac diagram and some line.....done deal There are other ways....1/4 bolt with a lock nut and some washers is an old standby
  8. Congratulations you found your problem
  9. Thats the ticket....you should have a vac line connected to that "pod" on the axle....the line should run back behind the motor (top of the tcase) Is that not a broken line right there in the second pic?
  10. Like the man said....front axle
  11. So you think the doorman stud would be stronger than the Rockwell American 7000 lb ?
  12. Try a place that sells parts for trailers I get mine ar Princess Auto.....they will have u-bolts as well
  13. Ha..like the post right above clearly states
  14. I will see if I can find you a pic....if I remember right with the v-belt the alt is on top of the ac....
  15. Both configurations were avaliable from the factory, v belts were common on wranglers. The difference will be as I said the water pump for the v belt set up spins the other dirrction. Easy way to compare since your motors are out is to remove the water pumps and do a side by side from the back....the vanes will run different directions. But they are interchangeable (just ask anyone who has put the wrong one on)
  16. Just a thought but you could get the serpentine belt configuration to work just like factory if you changed over to the correct single belt water pump....it runs the other way from the one you have now....then you could source factory parts and configure it like the other...
  17. Or the PO did not take the 5 minutes to take the diff cover off and find out for sure what the ratio was....speculated it was x.xx:1 and put in one guessing it was the same.....but that would just be a guess on my part....
  18. Lots of countries including Canada have laws dictating how long a campaign period can be, while America doesn't. Also the amount of money they throw around for advertising probably has something to do with it Maybe as Canadians we can find it easier to laugh at the reality..... (Absurdity) of it......FYI that's our guy on the left
  19. Not silly at all.....and I have had it happen more than once......read any paper work that comes out of a reputable tire shop (i am looking at a cost-co bill now) and it will tell you to check your lug nuts after 100 kms and again after 500....
  20. Why waste time scratching your head and guessing. Take off the diff covers...see what the actual ratio is and then you will know for sure...why speculate when the answer is right there :dunno: . :MJ 1: .
  21. You won't have to count....when you take off the cover it will be stamped on the ring gear
  22. Pay pal sent Thanks for keep the site up and running
  23. Start simple......drain the old fluid and fill it up with synthetic 10W-30.........that might give you some drivability......but unfortunately once they are gone.....they don't re-grow  . :MJ 1: .
