  1. DON'T DRIVE THE TRUCK LIKE THIS, but, try removing the vacuum line to the brake booster, and plugging that port. see if that fixes the high idle. if the booster is going bad you could be getting air in through it which would explain the brake pedal affecting the idle-speed.
  2. i hit 15/35 on my alpine for the first time in 3 years today... ;) i was ROCKIN buddy seriously though, must be a pretty good soundin system.
  3. I'm gonna say no on swapping tailhousogs over because I know it Won't work on manuals and I've never heard o it done on an auto. I beleive the transmissions to be non-interchangeable
  4. whEn I've experienced the clutch going straight to he floor in my tuck it was the master, one day it took two pumps the next day it was gone. Master is cheap at 50$ or so and slot easier than a slave. Give that a whirl if you can't figure it out

    HhAAHAHA
  6. can anyone I.D. this flywheel as definitely renix and not HO? i'm pretty sure it is a renix one but want re-assurance.
  7. i'll have to look for it on DH reruns, we wathc that channel all the time
  8. i'll give 550 if you can supply a picture!
  9. 1989 4.0L Manual 4x4 Sportruck, d35, stock height.
  10. nah, a cordless screw-gun and some knipex dikes.
  11. somebody got a good haul last time i went... left 200$$ worth of snap-on in the seat ACK! oh well, live and learn.
  12. i had a master cyl fail on my truck and had no clutch disengagement at all with no fluid loss, i would give that a shot, fairly cheap and maybe a 1hr repair including bleeding.
  13. if you do make a new flange right there, or manage to re-use your old one, i would definitely suggest replacing the nuts and studs(i think they're studs) because they rust bad right there.

    DANGIT!

well the ticket is apparently bunk, and i was perfectly legal to be driving its just not suggested because they can pull you over to check your paperwork at any time. cop neighbor is with the same force (gwinnett county) and said it was a dickhead ticket to write but he couldn't get it dropped for me since it had already been turned in so i'll have to take the day off work to fight it.

    DANGIT!

does anyone know if a ticket over the registration of your vehicle goes against your insurance rate? my comanche just switched ownership between myself and my brother (long story, he's owned it for the last 3 years b/c of insurance) and i didn't know you couldn't drive it before going to the tag office... not a speeding ticket or anything, strictly a registration problem.
  16. yeah the best place to find an AX15 is at the junkyard. they're listed on ebay all day long but theyre all rebuilt and 8-900$$ plus don't go for one out of a wrangler (YJ or TJ) because the t-case holes are clocked differently and it may require drop-kit or floor "modifications" to fit the transfer case. (so i guess if its 2wd and you don't want 4wd it doesn't matter)

  18. check your motor mounts before you replace your header, thats a likely culprit to have cause the split. basically it deosnt matter what you put on there it's going to crack eventually. pacesetter might last a little longer though.
  19. in my experience the extra work is probably not worth it... but i'd do it again. my truck already had a 97 engine (ho heads and all) installed, and the renix manifolds and stuff (even though they didn't line up) on it when i bought it... and it ran fine, not obviously out of whack. but it seems to be happier now (can't step into it to much or the clutch slips but it seems better  )
  20. saw a grumpy old pawpaw drivin a 1500W/T chevrolet tag said "FEMALL" hah
  21. some people also say to stroke a renix truck because of the knock sensor and easily fooled injection.
  22. i'll have to try it tomorrow. huffin graphite might become the next big thing!! :smart:
  23. hahah, sounds like from the exhaust the front should've been just about unloaded the whole time... WFO!!
  24. the renix is very good for now on availability and price of parts, but that won't last forever.
  25. welcome to the club, beer's in the fridge... just don't sit on the tan bench seat in the corner. ;)
