  1. I'm thinking fuel pump checking out, sounds like it's got enough pressure/volume to run at idle but once its under load it hasn't got enough to run properly.

  4. whats funny is i've had bad death wobble in my jeep before but when my trackbar did exactly what you're talking about all that happened was i suddenly couldn't steer! put it into a turn at 50 and it took full lock to (barely) make a slight bend in the road.
  5. well i guess my take on it is, antilock brakes work, and they work REALLY REALLY well... so i see no need to disable them, or avoid buying a vehicle because of them. the public being generaly $#!& drivers is a different issue entirely, and i think we should know how to do things without computer help just in case, but there's no purpose in fighting technology, just don't let it take over for you and make you stupid. now if you had a bad experience with a poorly designed abs system i suggest you try it again with a newer better system, because it really is amazing stuff.
  6. i think that was suspension tuning guidelines for someone going WAY faster than we are :cheers: but the same ideas still apply.
  7. first i would try putting it in 4hi and jacking up the front axle, see if you can spin the front driveshaft independently from the rear, if so you're not engaged in 4x4. if you can't spin the front shaft (with the front tires off the ground) then you're in 4x4. try it in 4lo also just for grins. i would suspect your shift linkage might be hitting on the body and knocking the transfer case out of 4lo and into N my truck used to do this on occaision when the motor mounts were broken, and it was a VERY violent bang when it happend.
  8. say what you will but i for one love abs. my 1990 volvo will outstop ANYTHING in a panic, and the abs works wonderfully especially on ice. it's kind-of like automatic transmissions, you may be able to shift your 1990 jeep 5spd faster than a 1990 AW4 can... but its impossible to shift a stick ferrari better than an automatic ferrari can do it.

  13. Yanked the goat and t-case to replace it an clutch with ax15, only to find the PO installed the wright pilot and the input shaft had like 1/8 inch clearance up/down/right/left (think 1/4" diameter to large)
  14. And the 2011 Grand Cherokee coming out in a couple months will have front and rear Independant suspension. :nuts: :nuts: :nuts: I bet it'll ride REALLY good!!! :thumbsup: :doh:

  16. what is this 90* you speak of? my hood fits perfectly but unlike ALL my friends cherokees, the hood tries to junk out the wiper blades to get to the second support rod cutout. my volvo on the other hand, and many others as well, go up to a full 90 which is amazing. (none of that late model BS does though)
  17. The transfer case is going to be tilted higher toward the body on the wrangler transmissiskn, and may require a hammer or drop kit to get the case to clear the body... This is a difference in the actual transmission, can't do anything about it. Hopefuly it works easy cause the ax15 I have to use is also from a YJ

  19. If I found a 44 I would go ahead and pull it instantly because they don't last long, however like i said I'm not in it for money so just price of the part is all I want and I'll keep a lookout for those armrests, you want hockeystixks with the slot right?
