Mounted a semi-permanant license plate mount to my XJ rear bumper, painted the end caps satin black Krylon plastic paint, and installed the last two bumper bracket bolts to my Bumper bracket. Also ordered two of those LED license plate bolt lights for it, but have yet to mount everything up till I get the tag lights. Ill take and post pics when its all together.

Before I was even a member, and my dome lights didnt work, I just took them out and cleaned all the contact points in the lights, including the roller.... they were all coroded almost black, and they have been working ever since. It was no big deal, even for someone whos never looked at one before that day... as long as you have any sort of inkling about how things work, you should be able to fix this yourself. And the door switches too, if their contacts are bad, it is super easy to just throw a new one in and youre good to go. don't make this out to be harder than it is. It would be harder to wire new lights in than to make the old ones work. Good Luck!

You talkin about the AMC 327, or a Chevy 327? A Chevy 327 would be nice, but an AMC 327 would be TRICK!

If you were that disliked, your girl would not have won that photo contest. You need to stick around just to piss off your nay-sayers!

2 busted knees resulting in three knee surguries, and several other knee sprains and arthritis in my knees. Nasal pollups still here after a sinus surgury to remove them, and can only smell sometimes. I guess I'm really not that bad.

Rural route post office drivers get a set amount per month to buy a vehicle and maintain it. If they can get one cheaper then they get to keep the rest of the money. That may be part of the high price too.

We need details, whod you sell it to, are they a member, what are thier intentions, how much you finally get? stuff like that!
-
Theyre asking that much because its RHD and they think they can sell it to paper delivery people who buy that stuff because they are hard to find and somewhat sought after. Kelly blue book put Excellent condition retail value at $2890, but they don't list RHD as an option. Private party value for fair cond is $1200, good cond $1550, exc cond $1850, Trade in value is between $400, and $900 depending on condition. Go to kbb.com, print this stuff out and go in to them informed, Take $2000 cash with you when you go and offer that right there and if they don't budge, then its up to you on how much you want it. Good luck, I hope you get it!

Are you really wanting to go with aluminum, because you can get some nice soft 8's cheaper than those, if cheap is what youre looking for, but if its in your budget those alums are real nice for the price!

1985 Ford Ranger long bed that my dad bought new, He drove it for 10 years then gave it to my brother, who drove it for a while till he wrecked it, then I took it and cobbled up the front end to make it drivable again. And this was in MIchigan, so you can probably imagine the amount of rust on it by this time too. here's the list! Rusted out rear cab mounts allowed the cab to sink, which was then propped up with 2x4's. Brother wrecked front end, grill was gone, different color fender, and holes cut in the hood for bungee cords to keep the hood shut. Me doing donuts in a Meijers parking lot hit a curb going sideways, bending the right rear axle end causing the wheel to noticable wobble going down the road. Gas tank leaked so could only put 1/2 to 3/4 tank in ata time. Trans fluid was never changed in the entire life of this ranger, so one night getting on the highway I hear and feel a huge BOOM! No gears for a few seconds, I move the shifter from neutral to drive and up and down, and finnally get moving again only find that 4th gear was no longer there. It stayed like that till I finnally got rid of it, too afraid to change the fluid at this point! For most of its life it would run horribly till it got warmed up, I think an o2 sensor, but we never fixed it. Once it was warm it ran great. Got pulled over once because I had no plate light, the plate was mounted on the tailgate because the bumper was rusted out where the plate was supposed to be. Cop saw that and let me go. Decided one day I didnt need it anymore and wouldnt get much if I sold it, so I drove it to the junkyard in town and asked what they would give me for it....$35 ! I politely declined and left going up their long driveway to the mai road. Halfway up the drive, it ran out of gas because of the leaky tank. I walked back down to the yard operator and told him it ran out of gas and Id take the $35! They gave me a ride home... only a few blocks away. Even with all that I still think it was a good truck.

Do a search for Coker Tire, they make high quality replicas of all the old small and medium miltary tires, last I knew, they also have resoration tires in odd sizes for just about everything. I one bought a set of 125R15's for a VW I had... good quality stuff!

CF? Is that cistic fibrosis? Or something else. I don't mean to bring things down, but from what I know of cistic fibrosis, the outlook seems pretty grim. I wish you the best of luck.

Need opinions on bandaids for my dying AW-4

Get a bottle of Lucas trans additive and see if it helps, might give you a little more time, but sounds like the trans pump might be going bad, it is in the bellhousing front trans area. Good Luck. -
So, uh, where you going to mount up a license plate and required lighting so its 'legal'? I have yet to figure that out, I will at least make a bracket to mount that stuff to, but a buddy of mine says he has one that may work for me, so I'm waiting on him to dig it up, In the pic the bumper was mounted temporary, as can be seen in my build thread in the projects section "Comanche Limited". There is some adjustment built into this setup, and I plan to paint the end caps satin black to match the trim on the rest of the truck. Ill post more pics when I figure out the plate situation and get it mounted permanent. My plan also is to make a semi hidden hitch to go along with this. I needed the bumper in place before I can start that though.

Finished making my rear bumper brackets to mount my XJ rear bumper. Mounted the bumper up and trimmed some more of the end caps to make it fit around the bed sides. I'm not sure if I like it yet or not, but then I got thinking, maybe this will allow me to use custom XJ rear bumpers. Who knows though. Here are a few pics, and the rest can be seen in my project thread " Comanche Limited ". Go there and let me know what you think.

I have made progress with my rear bumper situation, though I'm not quite sure I'm happy with how it looks. Time will tell, maybe it will grow on me.... I began by taking measurements from a CFC XJ Country chromed rear bumper and seeing where and how it would need to be mounted. So I bult these brackets to bolt to the rear lower edge of the bed and under the bed into the "frame". You can see where the top edge of the bracket mounts at the back edge of the bed floor, and the horizontal and vertical supports reaching back. The bumper is now temporarily mounted to the truck. Temporary because I still don't have a license plate mount or light for it. I'm still not sure what I will do concerning this. As soon as I do though, Ill show you guys what I come up with. Let me know what you think of it. I'm still not sure about it yet myself.

I go away for a half an hour and there are two pages! Sweet! Freakjeep, I think if you put your picture into "Paint" you can resize it and then resave it and repost it. I think most comps have Paint on them still don't they? I didnt mean to say it was bad, it was just..... BIG! I still appreciate your enthusiasm though. Keep up the good work Freakjeep! -
