  1. Weren't the stadium trucks reskined in 93 as Dakota's? The only Dakotas with a decent drivetrain. They one the championship too I think.
  2. One of the few ZJ's with a decent transmission and you yank it out.
  3. Scout is also passenger side drop while the MJ is drivers side drop. It a couple inches narrower also. 5.5x5 lug pattern. Low pinion. Your better off with a later model D30 out of an XJ with the correct gearing. They're not to hard to find.
  4. There's a lot of rust, the frame has rust between the laminations. The passenger door has rust on the bottom edge. Passenger cab corner is starting . All new brakes and lines, master cylinder and booster too. Even if you do it yourself will be nearly $700 for new parts. Shocks another $100. I'm sure there is plenty of other issues too. $750 max. I bought my 92 4.0 stick 2wd for $500. It has hardly any rust and only body damage is limited to the bed. The only thing that it needed when I bought it was a clutch pedal and wheels and tires to get it on the road. I've done many upgrades to it since I bought it but not from need, just by choice.
  5. I replaced every brake line on my first car when I was 16 with no guidance, it's not that hard. A double flaring kit is only thirty bucks or so. It's worth the investment if you're going to be working on older vehicles.
  6. What color seats do you have? I may have better ones in stock. Give me a call.
  7. Stock champions every time. Never any trouble. Every time that I tried something else it has ignition issues. This was with several 4.0's from 88's to 99's in MJ's, XJ's and ZJ's.
  8. Put the spacers in front, drive it around some and see how it sits. If you feel it then needs the shackles, put them in.
  9. He has way to much time on his hands. Really nice work though.
  10. I've been running Mobil 1 high mileage synthetic for 30,000 miles. It shifts and works fine no trouble.
  11. 84-96 XJ four door front doors. Smoker vents or wing windows.
  12. I run 265/75/16 B.F.Goodrich Rugged Trails on my XJ. They work fine. The key is to NOT to run the air pressure high. I run them at 28psi and they handle great. Also, when your towing or carrying a decent load it's nice to have the extra stiffness of sidewall with some extra air in it, say around 35-40 in the rear. If you can get them for a decent price I say run them and experiment with air pressure. TJ Rubicon's run a 245/75/16 with no trouble.
  13. Go to the parts store, ask for a 78 chevy K10 caliper. If that works, the caliper with an brake built in is from a Cadillac from the early 80's. There is a lot of info on this on the pirate 4x4 board.
  14. 2.5's did come with AW4's. I had one. The bellhousings are different. You may be able to take a 4x4 AW4 of the same vintage from a 4.0 and bolt the bell housing off of yours on to it. I'm not certain that this can be done but it looks possible.
  15. No worries on the unibody strength unless you have rust issues in that area.
  16. Swamper TSL's, 29/8.50/15. $145.28 a piece at national tire and wheel. Ntwonline.com They have a $50 shipping special on now also.
  17. Swap a complete minus headliner and carpet maroon interior for your engineless MJ? From a 2wd stick. 1989.
  18. If you could get the short bed for less than $3500 it would probably be worth it if it's as clean as it looks.
  19. That sounds like what I need. I'm in the same boat, the phone will ring but you can't answer it without dropping the call. With that I can drop my land line.
  20. Keep the ZJ, it's running and driving and doesn't need any work. Lots of work to be done on the Comanche.
  21. It's a shame to break up a decent vehicle if all it needs is a motor. Which it may not. My 92 MJ has been knocking for the 25k that I have been driving it. No change in the sound of it, just the same knock as when I bought it. You should be able to get a decent 4.0 for it for under $500. Drop it in and sell it or drive it. I'd love to find a nice XJ with a blown motor. That is an easy swap for a low cost vehicle.
  22. Stick with the stock plugs. Those are the ones it was designed to run on. I've also had good luck with the mopar replacement cap, rotor and wires. They were decent price wise too.
