It appears to me they are selling rear MJ fender flairs. I wonder how they are compatible with the XJ though. :dunce:

Jeep Cargo Light on Ebay
glundblad replied to jeepdoggydogB's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I find this post offensive and feel it should be removed by the moderators. -
Okay, let me put it to you this way. That Grand Cherokee is pretty quite. I could not imagine putting these tires on a Comanche especially if you need to drive the highway a lot.
-
I assumed the Toledo plant where the MJ was built is the same Toledo plant that the Wrangler is made today. :(
-
Beautiful.

That was a strange deal. Used sets were going for $200. But I think the frenzy is over. I bought a NOS tail light a few weeks ago. So I finally have a NOS set. I paid $50 for it + $50 to get it shipped. It came from Belgum of all places. 6 months ago, I would have needed a second mortgage.

I want this. Do you leave it unattended with the keys in it?
-
My son has them on his Grand Cherokee. Lots of road noise. I had to pick his truck up from the airport the other day and needed to drive it about 45 miles. I would imagine they would be louder on a Comanche than a Grand Cherokee.

I would hate to see such Jeep vehicles being produced in another country and then imported into the US. But on the other hand, the Jeep line up is pretty wimpy. They are doing the best they can to kill the brand. It looks like these could restore their reputation. These have real axles. If they came to the US, especially with a small diesel, I would get rid of one of my old 2002/2003 Tahoes in a heartbeat. I just bought a Ribicon a year or two ago. I think that is the only Jeep left. Now they are talking about bringing back the Grand Wagoneer. At first I was happy about that until they said it would be based on the new Dodge Durango "Crossover" platform. A car? Maybe they will bring back the Legendary Chrysler Cordoba and put it on the Durango platform too. I am sure it will be "trail ready" whatever that means. I am suprised they havent taken a jeep compass, put it on rear coils, then add a bed, slap a "Trail Ready" badge on it and call it a Comanche or J10.

You are right. I have not done a very good job of keeping this post current. I have the interior out again and have a straight factory bumper coming back from the body shop after getting repainted. I will post more of those improvements. Until then, here is a link to the comanche of the month post. One the last page is an updated interior pic. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=21903

No, I don't show it. While she did clean up pretty well, she is not show quality. If all of us got together somewhere to show off our comanches, then it would be show quality but so would most of the others in their own way. Remember it still lived it's life in indiana. The undercarrage is in pretty good shape compared to other Indiana trucks but that is only because it wasnt on the road in the winter for the last 15 years. The frame is solid and in good shape but it is not restored. The engine bay looks like any other factory 4.0 with 85,000 miles. It will not clean up. I have thought about sanding and painting the frame rails but I am sure I would bust bolts off to remove transfer case crossmembers, control arms, etc. Then I would be a little upset. It may not look good underneath but it is all original. It can only be original once. Right? But next winter I will probably paint the frame rails anyway. I will be seeking advice on how to remove a busted bolt or loosened nutsert. :shake:

If I understand you correctly, you are gathering information about the chief. I own a chief and really there is not much that separates it from the other comanches. I confess that I feel the inside is trimed out a little nicer and I really like the chief decals but that is about it. My chief has some nicities such as the rear slider window, the roll bar, 4.0, dana 44 rear axle and limited slip diff but only because it was ordered that way. Not because it is a chief. The chief package didnt include it automatically. Here is a link to my truck. Toward the back is the window sticker that came with it. It has the chief optioins listed on it: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=21903

I know this has been posted before but I wondered if there has been any updates? Has anyone purchased aftermarket carpet recently and if they have, how does it compare in quality and fit to OEM?
-
I am about to replace my headliner. I wondered if since the headliner was removed, the carpet panel underneath the rear window and the b-piller trim were both removed, should I add additional insulation behind those areas? I know a lot of people have done that but I was curious if it really made a difference at deadening the sound?

Tire size / Gear Ratio / RPM
glundblad replied to Eagle's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
The second one comes up for me too. But Don, I don't know about you but I am a little disappointed. I thought Eagle stored all this stuff in his head. Didnt you? :rotf: -
Cheer up ... just think of all the wear you WON'T be putting on 5th gear. Eagle is right. Think of it as a 4 speed with an extra gear for future expansion. Similar to a spare memory slot on your computer.

The illusive black dash,...
glundblad replied to JENSSEN's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I must confess. I am not sure I understand what the infatuation is with the black interior. Why is it so sought after?? When we were shopping for our red chief, I wanted tan. -
All of the statements in this post are correct but you must admit, it would make a great parts truck. :rotf: I want that AMC bed mat.
-
Your friends were a big help "Well, at least that wasnt us". :rotf:
-
So your truck didnt come with a factory cargo light but you are installing one? You have more courage than I ever will. Good luck.

I am sure I have had mine up to 70mph before but I can't remember when.

Since she was lifted off the ground like that, it would have been a great time to change the fluids.

I am so glad to see that. I live on a dirt road too. At least I am not the only one. It is starting to thaw here so in order to maintain stability, I need to put the old tahoe in 4hi. The garage floors look like a hog pen. One good thing about it though. It makes my area undesirable so I have very few neighbors. At least that is how it works in Indiana.

I wish you would have said something. We are DW experts in my house. Been there probably 20 times in the last 18 years, Could have told you every resturant that is an absolute must.

The next question is does an older dodge dakota tail light fit a comanche. When you look at them, they look to be the same. The answer is no. Those don't fit either.
