  1. No problem. Set up an account in photobucket.com. Upload your photos to your account and paste the url string into a message. Colorado red is a good choice.
  2. I have always thought those white rims looked good. Especially on a mildly lifted truck with BFG all terrain tires. I would vote that you keep them white.
  3. Red is good. White is good too.
  4. Sorry. No chief stickers available. Take it to a sign guy and have him make them. Sorry I have to do this to you but: :needpics: If you don't have pics, she doesnt exist. :rotf:
  5. No Taz. This is just an old resurected post.
  6. I have used a wood block, C clamp and a 80# tractor weight on the pedal. It works great as a cruise control.
  7. My '87 chief did not come with any Comanche logo. Only 4x4 on the b-piller and 4.0 on the tailgate.
  8. I don't know if those seats are the same style as mine but imagine they have the same frame. I was able to remove the covers off the seats and run them through the washing machine in gentle cycle. Just be sure to use unscented laundry detergent. I washed mine and thought they looked pretty good. Then I decided to run them one more time and they looked new. Paul talked me into doing it. I think he posted a DIY on it. I have a front load washing machine. I would prefer a top load washer.
  9. I know I will catch grief for saying this but in my humble opinion, one with a 4.0 liter I6 engine ('87 or later) would be more desirable and can be found for the same money.
  10. That was the same cluster I had. I didnt need to swap any of the sensors. When it comes time to remove the cluster, first unscrew the speedometer cable from the tranny. Then feed some of that slack up to the tack. It gives you a lot of extra room to work. Tachs are very important for an MJ. I can't imagine why they didnt install tachs on all of them. Back in the day, they were bragging about how powerful the engine was. Mine had the 3.08 gearing and in 5th, it could barely make it up a hill. Only after I installed a tach did I figure out the engine really was strong. The gearing was just poorly done. Now, In my case, I know not to use 5th until I get up to 60+mph. You will be glad you have it.
  11. maybe I am a little ridgid but wouldnt you think if you were trying to sell a truck, you would try to make it look a little more reliable by first taking it off the lift before you take pictures? That along with the stool and apparent oil spill underneath makes it look like someone is giving up.
  12. You will be fine as long as you get another Renix version of the gauge cluster rather than a high output cluster and it is for the 4.0 engine. You can tell for sure it is a Renix cluster if the back of the casing is light blue. High outputs are white cases. Here is an example of a blue cluster: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14904
  13. Nice. I have always liked those white steel wheels. It looks like the rear fenders arent even rusted. You must be from the south.
  14. I have one called a "Tek Style". It appears to be top quality. I bought it off a Comanche Club member. I don't know if they still make them for the size of a comanche bed.
  15. Sounds like it's time to trade-in for a newer model Gary. And I don't mean the MJ. You're probably right. Just keep me in mind if you run across one with low miles and a rear bumper in excellent condition. :clapping:
  16. Seems to me like your lens was also dirty. Thanks for the tip Sherlock. Rip on a poor guy just because he is an idiot and can't write. You just wait. When you get to be my age... :D I have had a chance to drive a bit with these and I must admit I really like them. they look better in person than they do in the photo but I am sure they are hot in the summer. If I didnt have AC, I probably wouldnt do it. SInce they are smooth, it is much easier to get in and out. However, my wife won't even ride in the truck any longer. She says I ruined it and calls them "embarrassing"
  17. You could probably go to a JY and get a set of 4 door seats from an older XJ that would swap ok (or the covers only). The only problem you may have is the MJ seats have the tilt lever at the top so you would need to cut slits in them to accomidate the lever. That would be one of those "brown moments" if you get it wrong. I think the year for an XJ is '93 or older.
  18. Those wheels where stock from the mid '90's grand cherokees. We had a '96 with those wheels.
  19. Dang Dude.
  20. Congrats. don't forget about the insurance and ever increasing taxes.
  21. Thanks for the complements. I always liked the Tan interior. Tan buckets should be pretty easy to find. If I were you, that and a center console, would be the only thing I would change. Black is very rare.
  22. Thanks everyone for the positive comments. They came out of an old XJ Cherokee and bolted right in. I almost think they stopped making black interior in in '88. Anyone care to comment? There is a number stamped on the bottom of the cushion frame that says "3 3 87". Dunno if that is a date or not. There was really nothing wrong with the checkered seats but the leather are much better with the side bolsters. I have figured out too that black doesnt photograph well. In the photos, the seats almost look gray, like they don't match the rest of the interior. I was a little worried even when I bought them based upon the seller's photos. Some call charcoal gray black. So Don, I appreciate your comments. My wife was disgruntled about them and I was scratching my head in confusion. They exceeded my expectations. Then I thought, Look at me. Then I remembered she has absolutely no taste at all. Don, yes the fogs are chrome cases. The original ROL fogs had black cases. For a fleeting momement, I thought about painting them flat black but my senses came back. WTF, paint new 20 year old fogs from a company that is out of business? I don't have access to other limited interior parts and don't really plan to change it any further (except I need to recover my header panel). I have found the parts I have been looking for over the last 2 years. The seats mark the end of my search. The factory original "blue letter" guage cluster is reinstalled only now with a matching tach. So she has the original 85k miles on her again instead of the incorrect 150k miles. I have a factory rear bumper I still need to install. I am not really planning to sell the black checkered buckets right now. But if I change my mind, I will let everone know. Paul was kind enough to find them for me. Paul, I am curious what you think about release 3 of the seats?
  23. Before I start, I realize my lens cap was dirty. :clapping: I have finally found a pair of black leather XJ seats (4 Door) for my chief. I have been looking for a set of these for a long time. Black is a little difficult to find. I am curious what everyone thinks and feel free to be honest. Here are some before and after shots: Before: After: Also, awhile back I was able to get ahold of a pair of NOS Marchal 850 fog lights. The cats are still on the lenses. I also have a pair of black fog light covers that I normally use. I was able to use the existing wiring harness and switch. I have no idea how well they work. I am too afraid to drive with the lens caps off. :shake: Oh and Don, before you say anything, yes I know they are crooked. :rotf: So what do you think? Are the leather seats better or worse than the checked black/white? My wife isnt too happy with them.
  24. The Chief package did not indicate top of the line as one may think (although Chief owners normally think so even though deep down, eliminators are SLIGHTLY better :clapping: ) It meant body graphics, minor interior upgrades, carpet, etc. If you wanted the 44, 4.0, etc, you still need to explicitly order it. I have one and my original window sticker is posted on this link if you are curious. The options that are included with the Chief package are listed. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=21903
