    Gm Problems

I don't hate GM, I just hate the 2.8 engine blocks that GM sold Jeep. and the aztek. I hate the aztek. and GM's insistence on IFS in their big trucks. hate that too.
  2. how long have you waited to let the silicone cure? did you see any gouges in the crankshaft where the seal rides? they make double-lipped seals for that.
  3. the inner left door window wipe works for the outer right door and vise-verse. also, 97+ cherokee door seals are bigger than the older style. So you should be able to go to a junkyard and get good parts rather than ancient crappy stuff.
  4. an upgrade was sorely needed. Even if we were able to keep phpbb and update it to the modern version, there would be plenty of changes we'd need to adapt to. give it time and I'm sure we'll all get used to it. there were the same growing pains when we switched from the yahoo groups. :( the chat will disappear if you hover the mouse near the upper right corner of the chatbox and click the little minus sign that pops up. or if you click on the "comanches" subforum rather than staying on the main page's "comanche club forums"
  5. small broncos (76 and earlier) have less width, but the 44s are low pinion and have small ujoints, and the 9 inch has a lesser splined shaft.
  6. It's a good thought, but that only benefits the larger parts. people selling something that is shippable would prefer a wider audience. members are supposed to put their state in the title tough. :dunno:
  7. :rotf:
  8. what's your plan for the front?
  9. classy!
  10. the cherokee rear axle will need the perches moved whether you go SOA or SUA. the XJ perches are further outboard than MJ. I would definitely swap the axles regardless of lift or anything. 3.07 gears suck.
  11. upon further reading, it looks like it might depend on the manufacturer of the gears too. from Precision's website: Dana 30 -- 46/13 = 3.54 Dana 35 -- 39/11 = 3.55 Dana 44 -- 46/13 = 3.54 ford 8.8 -- 39/11 = 3.55 Dana 30 -- 41/10 = 4.10 Dana 35 -- 37/9 = 4.11 Dana 44 -- 41/10 = 4.10 ford 8.8 -- 41/10 = 4.10
  12. 3.08 and 3.07 will depend on the axle you're counting teeth on. because differentials come in all different sizes, they have different numbers of teeth on the gears. some axles will have a 3.08, others will have 3.07. just like some have a 3.54 and others 3.55. or 4.10 and 4.11. it goes on and on. designers did their best to get the numbers to be the same.
  13. and the front axle is their weird IFS design.
  14. I know lund made 2 different visors, called a sun visor and moon visor. don't know if anyone else made one though.
  15. I know you don't want the hassle of swapping out the front axle, but the change from 3.07 to 3.55 will put a smile on your face every time you drive. :D I promise!
  16. also, you can post any gif out there. just treat it like a photo.
  17. if you can find it out there in the ether, I can add it.

  20. I had an alternator short out internally and catch my cables on fire. not fun, especially on the side of the road.
  21. none of the 3 bumpers are listed as standard equipment. all say optional.
  22. consider it dead and start shopping for a whole axle.
  23. KJ rims are all 5 on 4.5 and the typical Jeep backspacing (5.25"?).
  24. throw a topic in the pub about looking for texas junkyards
