  1. I wouldn't even try to fix that housing. it's not a big deal to swap all those guts into a housing that hasn't yet self-destructed.
  2. go south for your new truck. and don't let it touch winter. ever!
  3. welcome to the club! :waving:
  4. in 4wd? or just 2wd?
  5. well, then I'm giving him fair warning that following the original lines means dropping the gas tank. :( personally, I like to improve on factory when I can, even if it's only in subtle, almost invisible ways. :D
  6. what were you doing at the time? and it almost looks like your account needs a password, because I still can't see the photo with the link. :(
  7. heck, I'll give you the horn off my empty 90 if you PM me an address.
  8. there's no need to try and follow the original lines. that'll drive you nuts. just be sure that they are up out of the way from harm.

all I could think of was the detroit Lions' win/loss record. :rotf:
  10. paying shipping for a horn? you should be able to get one from a local store today. heck, even walmart will have one.

    Sheesh!

    neat!
  12. If you're going to por it, you can put tape underneath so the por lays flat, then remove tape once the topcoat is cured and you're ready for the underside. or hit it with a welder.
  13. you can invent your own rod, or just leave it off. the neutral position for an empty bed is with the swing arm roughly parallel with the ground. If you leave it off, you'll need to affix the swing arm so that it stays in that position.
  14. yanking out bushes and trees is rough going in georgia thanks to that concrete-like soil. broke a chain a few years back at my sister's place yanking a shrub out. :ack:
  15. same here. though probably for a different reason. :P
  16. they're just jealous. also:
  17. someone doesn't have a rusty truck.
  18. the more likely cause is a leak. Our trucks are prone to them and the cause could be ANYTHING that could possibly leak. from the firewall, to the windshield, to the door seals, to the rear window. find the leak before putting the carpet back.
  19. insulation + some heat = florescents work fine. :D (hint, hint)
  20. Dakota hose should be plenty. but I'd advise against blocks in the rear. Going SOA increases spring wrap. adding blocks to the mix makes it even worse. :(
  21. having the propane heater on full blast and still freezing my butt off is why I'll never not insulate. but it wasn't my garage at the time and I didn't have a vote. :fs1: Now the shelves are up, the bench is in, the garage is full of a decade's worth of stuff and I cringe at the very thought of moving it all to add insulation. :(
  22. yes, you'll need to nip off the ends of the steel sleeve with a hack saw or grinder so that they are flush with the rubber.
  23. now is the time to insulate! quick! before the walls become blocked by stuff  It's not that much more money or time if you do it soon. later on it becomes a real pain in the butt. (can you tell my garage never got insulation? :( )
  24. would you like me to make that your avatar?
