mine were wasted, but it was obvious that they rusted away.

there might be a write up somewhere, but it'll go something like this: -hold up the 97 lights in the MJ bed -fab all the mounts and fab fillers for the gaps -rewire to make the lights work properly

seems the drivers side and the camber adjustment bolt was all the way to the wrong side. :doh: but all is well now. :D thanks guys!

the newer style rads with the filler neck/rad cap will go right in to the older MJs. got one in mine :D helps with filling it up.

how important it is depends on how bad the blow-by is in a particular truck. I had a little filter on mine for a while. all it did was leak oil out that filter and fill my engine bay with stinky fumes that should have been sucked back into the engine. it didn't last long before I created a factory-like system again.

not sure if Jim knows what that is...

I replaced the whole steering assembly tre-to-tre a couple years ago (boy was that a fun job!). nothing was disconnected this time except the strut assembly and sway bar links. and yes the wheel was correct before. :thumbsup: struts were replace at least once before, but that was before the van was mine. I'll pop off the tires tomorrow and check for any camber adjust-ability. I don't remember any but that doesn't mean it's not there. :doh: the van doesn't look any taller in the front, but I never thought to check before and after heights. :doh: and one more face-palm, just for the heck of it :doh:

she's mine all mine. :D can moving the steering via the knuckle somehow not rotate the steering wheel? I mean, it's rack and pinion and all, but they are still connected. right?

97 with 220k. donors still had the stickers on the strut body so very few miles on them.

4 leafs total: 3 regular and one overload. 5 total: 3 regular and 2 overloads somewhere there are photos of both kinds.

seriously?! new struts, new brakes, new sway bar links (technically they are all used, but in good shape), now my steering wheels is canted to the left a bit. wtf. far as I can tell the van tracks straight and I don't hear any weird tire scrubbing noises. The van that donated its struts didn't have any front end damage either. thoughts?

as Correy mentioned, I replaced them with grade 8 studs. that way they can be used to help align the trans for re-installation. :thumbsup: worked great!

a malfunctioning CAD is by FAR the most likely culprit. :thumbsup: just bypass and fix it for good. other possibilities involve broken parts (snapped shaft, etc). :(

the brake lights and turn signals are the same filaments. :thumbsup:

in 91 they changed the front end around. correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the grille of a 91 is integral with the small bit of trim right above it. 90 and earlier they are separate. will make for a weird gap if you try the late model XJ grille.
