I thought the DIY section was for detailed descriptions of finished how-to projects (be they repairs or mods). for this new forum are we talking about "talking about tools"? or are we talking about "showing people how you made a certain tool"? I'm now confused. :hmm:

I don't think we've got enough interest to create a whole forum, but you're more than welcome to start a bunch of threads in the pub. :thumbsup: or if they are auto related tools you can stick them in the tech section too. :yes:

my roommate has the screwdriver. It does exactly as you think it does and does it well (afterall, it just drives screws). I don't see it ever failing (but if it does, it's guaranteed for life) but it's a bit heavy for my tastes and I get by just fine with a regular one. The double drive ratchet on the other hand should fix an issue I frequently have on cars; not enough space to properly ratchet a regular ratchet. :fs1: I cannot wait to try it out!!! :yes:

Since I don't see the rest of my family 'til Friday, I'll try to live vicariously through you guys. :D So far I got Kobalt's double drive ratchet. It's AWESOME!!! :yes: and a voltage/current sensor. It's even MORE awesome. :banana:

I can tell you for sure that I put a tiny nick in the new seal the first time around and figured I could get away with it. :doh: Eventually the second RMS was the winner (it's not like I blew through 5 RMS's) but it kept dripping after each try for reasons I couldn't pin down. I just dropped the pan and re-did it. in the end I used gobs and gobs of silicone on the back of the pan and an overnight cure in a last-ditch attempt... and miracles of miracles, it worked. :dunno:

It's certain that some will find it annoying, but technically he's done nothing wrong. I find it hard to fault him for passing on info he thinks is important. having said that, I do believe this thread has run its course and needs to be locked before it gets even more argumentative.
