  1. livin' the dream. (my dream specifically, but a dream none the less)
  2. hard to beat an old flat (relative to SUA lift packs) leafpack for travel unless you're spending top dollar for Deaver leafs. SOA with 4wd leafs in decent shape should give you about 6" of lift. of course, springwrap could be an issue, but that can be addressed with anti-wrap perches or a full-on antiwrap bar
  3. what all do you do with the truck?
  4. be picky. you've got skills. find a place you'll enjoy working at.
  5. I can check what my 88 has tomorrow if no one chimes in before (I'm not at the house today)
  6. oh my! lots of good parts there!!!
  7. that definitely sounds plausible to me. probably time to grab a junkyard 'puter and take a shot in the dark.
  8. do what ya gotta do. adapt and overcome. words I try to live by. you got this. @jdog can help cover the VINs.
  9. you can buy a brand new repop made for an MJ, so I would probably sell that one and buy the correctly fitting one.
  10. yes, that's the pass side firewall. had to pull the dash and hvac to get at it all.
  11. ya got that right. took me 4 tries to cut a rectangle out of sheetmetal to patch the floor.
  12. cut a non-random hole in the floorboards
  13. we are literally here to ask and answer questions (and also look at truck photos). I think I made it rule #2? there are several tricks for locking the CAD permanently if you're looking for a quick and dirty bypass. see the link in my signature. if you're going to swap out the shaft, make sure you get the bigger jointed shafts and get both sides.
  14. that moisture could be from the last decade. I just wrapped up the leaks in the truck I'm helping fix up and there were a bunch.
  15. amazing what proper fuel delivery will do.
  16. looked up my 87 dealership brochure and 2 spoke was the base model wheel and 3 spoke were the fancy option.
  17. everyone loves the old iron
  18. in the weeds.
  19. excellent! now replace the tops bolts with some grade 8 studs and nuts.
  20. everything boils down to what you plan to do with the tuck and how much money/project you're looking for. then you can pick a lift and tire size. since it was never a factory thing (base longbeds were simply "base models", while base shortbeds got the fancy "SporTruck" moniker) you're technically even rarer than rare (sorta). only 1 other longbed owner I've ever seen in 25 years bought SporTruck stickers for his longbed.
  21. what sort of things do you carry in the bed? what sort of daily access do you need? the tri-folds always struck me as more user-friendly for a daily.
  22. sounds like winning to me. love the sportruck sticker on a longbed.
  23. do those muscle cars have our invert Y steering?
