4.0? I'm pretty sure I read that any year of aw4 will work as long as you adapt it properly (mostly an electronics thing). could be wrong though. automatics were never my thing.

my 88 pioneer did not have vent windows

the front suspension is identical to XJs and almost the same as your TJ so you'll be working with the same stuff. the rear is different but can be done cheap since you'll gain 5 inches or so from an SOA flip. some good ideas here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/43844-the-diy-700-off-road-capable-soa/

PCM = power control module = computer everything is computer controlled these days and so you need to tell the computer that the fog lights exist. :thumbsup:

I would replace the rms and keep going. :yes: nothing unique or even scary to me about your particular Jeep engine. :thumbsup: if it has good compression and good oil pressure, then in my opinion it's probably good for another 140k. . :MJ 1: .

axle choice and engine choice are completely separate things. one rarely affects the other. :thumbsup: (unless you get a big v8 and puny axles, then one will affect the other :D ) early bronce axles suck unless you throw a lot of money at them. if I remember right, they have small ujoints, the front is low pinion, and the rear has little shafts and bearings. you'd be ahead of the game with late model XJ dana 30/8.25. or are you referring to the kingpin dana 60? that guy have a lot of stuff for sale.
