  1. yup. treat it like paint. all the loose stuff has to be pulled up.
  2. you can easily go with drop brackets to get those arms back to level with the ground.
  3. I say it will make for a good rat rod. it's not as clean as one would hope, but certainly has potential. :D
  4. what are your compression numbers? any rod knock?
  5. if you already have your shocks, then you know your maximum measurement. now you need to get the suspension to drop fully down and see where your maximum shock extension point lines up on the axle tube. then get your suspension to fully compress and see if you need to add bumpstop length to keep the shock from bottoming out.
  6. IMO, 4.10s beat all other aspects.
  7. love that truck! I know there's a thread somewhere that shows better pics of the exhaust. I just can't seem to find it.
  8. proper control arms, longer swaybar links, bumpstops, and figure out what's up with the driveshafts. those are some seriously ugly welds on those shafts.

    bait car

find the show, watch it, laugh at idiots. good stuff. :D
  10. previous owner definitely cut some corners, but I'm sure you'll iron it all out. good score  be sure to start a build thread as you dig into it.
  11. congrats! be sure to start them off right with a Jeep of their own
  12. yup, treat it like paint and you should be fine. pay close attention to the instructions of the new liner. some may call for a scuffed up surface (like with sandpaper)
  13. pictures of what's on your truck might help out with the confusion.
  14. every bad wheel bearing I've experienced was noticeable when rotating the tire by hand. I would jack up the corners and spin the tires.
  15. looks like you had a blast. :D all I hunted down were some christmas gifts. :( (puns intended)
  16. what are the build dates? :D I'd buy #3 and use the rest of the cash on a nice garage for it
  17. ECUs aren't really known for being a common failure point. what symptoms are you experiencing?
  18. nice score!!
  19. the rumor is that the late 86 models had the 4.0 dent in preparation for the next year's engine.
  20. still 20 minutes left :D I'm going to have a bit more turkey...

    found a bedliner

no pics?! there isn't even a post!!! what the hell batman? how do I have a title with nothing else? :fs1: anywho, no holes in the bottom, no holes in the bedrails. I'm a happy camper. :D it didn't come with a tailgate, but I figure I can find that later. I probably should find some plugs for those circular holes before the wasps take hold. I hate that aspect of life in georgia. the dang things keep making nests everywhere. :fs1:
  22. do any of the lesser models have regular trim you could swap in?
  23. totally jinxed myself, but whatever. it's here now! :D
  24. HellCreek makes them too. be prepared for similar sticker shock. leafs are heavy. if your leafs are indeed lift leafs, you should be able to sell them and recoup some of the money. I hope that was hyperbole, since an SOA gives 6" and 14-6=more inches than any MJ leaf pack I'm aware of. :D
