you still don't need or want the pitman drop. the steering and track bar should be parallel or bumpsteer can occur. dropping the pitman puts the system out of parallel. :(
just a heads up, the extra mount really isn't the most necessary thing in the world. the bar isn't going to save your head in a rollover so simply popping holes through the bed is sufficient to hold up some lights.
but I always admire the hunt for factory-spec. . :MJ 1: .
you don't need or want the drop pitman (unless your track bar bracket includes a comparable drop).
it has the correctt width and bolt pattern. you'll need to move the perches to the MJ's location. the 8.25 can get a junkyard disk conversion too, so you might want to look into it before spending money on the drums.
an AX-4 and AX-5 are the same, if they come from the same vehicle. wranglers are a bit different in how they mount the t-case shifter and the clocking of the t-case (to clear the belly pan I think). wrangler up top, MJ/XJ below
the new trans will clock your t-case up a bit. helps with ground clearance, but miiiiiight touch the floorboards. I have a TJ trans in mine and it clears (close, but clears), but others needed to hit the floorboards with a big hammer a couple times.
just to throw this in the hat because it happened with me (ymmv), but cracking the seal of the hood (I did it for cooling) lets all the stinky smells of the engine bay get right into the cab as I hit 45pmh+. :(
fortunately my cooling mod wasn't passive and if I hit the fan (which was installed for slow trails) on the highway, the fan pushed the smells forward into the air stream and the stinky-ness stopped :)
should be a big list of various definitions at the bottom of the list here:

all good info. ended up going with one of the cheaper all-included ones rather than trying to piece it together (original owner too rather than a lease return). I figure it'll be faster to get him back up and running this way.
they can have my win 7 when they pry it from my cold hands. :D
ebay is chock full of ex-lease laptops. my pop doesn't need anything special. a simple dual core, 8g/500g, atomic powered laptop will do. :D
thanks. I figured it was more complicated than I had hoped. :(
I do have an '07 office disk and was looking at buying a win7 from a reputable ebay seller that "resells" win7 + keys (can I just reuse the key from my dad's laptop?). my sata-to-usb cable is on the way. just seems like a good thing to have around!
price for an empty 'top was about $55, a similar loaded one $130-150 but it's ebay so those might change in the coming days
the mechanicals of a 'puter are nothing new to me, but those dang 1s and 0s are made from magic and pixie dust.
so if I take a harddrive from a toshiba laptop and stick it into an Acer laptop, will the windows7/office from the toshiba continue to work without any extra work from me? or will the Microsoft witchcraft give me a big thumbs down? My pop's laptop has died (from my diagnoses it's either a boot-up failure or a motherboard issue) and I'm looking at getting a used Acer like mine and they are much cheaper without an HD.
when all is up and running smoothly, there will likely be a perpetual donation button on the main page or the top of the page or something along those lines. that way when people don't see it and ask anyway I can just send them to the top of the screen. :D
