I would go with POR-15 over the rusty areas before the bedliner. and I would rip up the upper frame bits too. they have proven to be unnecessary and just trap rust inside.

neat! always wondered what a stretched MJ would look like with 2door doors. would need a LOT more details about the stretch before any thought was given to purchase it (even at a third what he's asking). and I agree on that brown. needs more accents or contrasting colors. and put the b-pillar vent back!

lost power for a few hours. came back on around dinner time just as I was preparing to fire up the genny. I mean, literally while I was walking towards the door. the trees were really dancing out there, but it seems all we lost were small branches. whew!

yes! we gave great thought to that (at the time my grandpa was on O2 and the concept of near-instant power return was appealing) but went with a "portable" unit instead because I was near him 24/7 at the time and it'd be easy to switch to an emergency tank while I fried up the voltage. It weighs a ton, but does 240 (for welding ) and has a 5 gal tank for lots of hours of runtime. I could run everything in this house including the ac (just not all at once). mostly what it does is prevent power outages. we haven't had one since buying it that last longer than a couple hours.

holy crap that would be sweet! I wonder how hard it would be to get a car remote starter wired in... mostly I wanted to have something my pop could start and his back doesn't really allow for a stubborn engine.

we splurged and got a genny with an electric start. yes, it's as awesome as it sounds (the chains saw on the other hand... )

the weatherman is still predicting super high winds for northern GA so I spent my weekend doing cleanup to get the durango in the barn and the liberty in the garage. basically I fear large branches snapping off the 100 ft trees that surround the house, but it's good to get organized. the MJs are nestled next to the barn. I put a board over my mini sunroofs and wrapped a tarp around the 88 (the 90 is completely empty so even if water gets in I can mop it out). got the generator topped off and put my chainsaw and tools in the liberty. I needed some stuff from lowes anyway so I grabbed a couple plywood sheets and some 2x4s just in case something punctures the roof. Hopefully the storm won't be all that bad, but I'd rather be prepared. oh, and there's plenty of beer in the fridge. always be prepared. stay safe everyone!

how solid are the floors? bedliner will just cover the rust and allow it to propagate uncontrolled.

last I heard I-75 was still both ways in north FL but they have opened up the shoulders to traffic flow. highways near the coasts of FL and GA should be one-way by now. I've seen governors and mayors on tv announcing phone numbers for those who cannot move themselves out of the path to get free transport. for the remaining who can't manage to make that call or aren't watching the news or weather channel, I've seen footage from prior storms where the cops go down street by street with loudspeakers.

the lights are highly overrated. in my liberty they aren't even accurate (which is a good thing since the awd position is a no-light position and I don't have to stare at that light all the time :) )
