  1. as an extra benefit the WJ arms are stronger and have better bushings then stock MJ.
  2. hopefully this vid works for everyone
  3. I had a leak in my 86's windshield seal that ran along inside the a-pillar and down to the floor. that one was a real bear to find.
  4. I see you have a second account. would you like me to merge them?
  5. if you can find the source of the water, I'd bet it'll help finding that short.
  6. just jumped in to point out that por-15 and bedliner are not the same thing. por-15 binds to the steel/rust and shuts down the oxidation process. bedliner does no such thing and will not stop rust.
  7. should be a writeup in the link in my sig
  8. close. you're thinking of Sam, who built VW busses with the Westy tent top conversion.
  9. it's pricey and upsidedown, but... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Very-Rare-21-Slot-Jeep-Cherokee-Comanche-Wagoneer-Chrome-Grille-Grill-XJ-MJ/282673030449?hash=item41d0a02531:g:sqUAAOSwZjtZzTY~&vxp=mtr
  10. not actually sure about that , but I do know that the notification settings are up at the top/right of the page after you click on the bell
  11. yup. happens with each passing model year. the new Jeeps outnumber the old in shows because they greatly outnumber the old in real life. I bet someone was worried about all those newfangled YJs stealing the limelight at one point in time.
  12. that sucks check that your cowl area drains properly.
  13. part of the "upgrade" that came with the software so it feels more like social media.
  14. anyone started this? I'd love to help, but I'm probably shouldn't be the guy to start planning out the organization.
  15. we dig pics. doesn't have to be just "after" shots. stockers are just as awesome here (even more-so to some members )
  16. 33s give an inch more ground clearance but bring more headaches with them, namely clearance of the lower control arms and fenders and also sucking more power from the engine (unless you re-gear). 31s would make for a better handling driver on the roads. the differences between alloy and steel rims are, generally speaking, a moot point. just pick what you like best.
  17. lots of tech in this thread so I've moved it over
  18. how about I move this to the DIY in a couple days and include it in the list. the "best paint gun for the money" certainly seems like a worthy DIY thread.
  19. Rusty's has improved over the years. in the early days their welding and rust-prevention were simply atrocious and left a bad taste in customers' mouths. I'm still hesitant to recommend them, but I no longer tell people to run away. bear in mind that few "kits" are complete, no 2 kits are identical, and personal opinions vary wildly on what constitutes "good" (both in part quality, ride quality, or what parts are needed or not). keep reading the project and DIY threads and you'll get closer to being able to make confident decisions on what you'll need. what size tires are you shooting for? fwiw, I prefer rubber bushings for a daily driver.
  20. yeah, my wheeling trips seemed to include a whole lot of idling, followed by bursts of high rpm, followed by more idling. Blowing through a half tank of gas in a day is not unheard of but I have no idea how much mileage that is (no speedometer).
  21. not a clue you'll want to contact Alexia and see if he has any thoughts on it.
  22. take lots of pics and start your own DIY thread
  23. a bad ground, a bad power connection, or bad bushings in the linkages can all make the wipers struggle.
