  1. I could have really used that at the junkyard yesterday! stupid dewalt doesn't seem to make one yet.
  2. went back today with the hope of cutting out the rockers but gave up and grabbed a fuel pump assembly, throttle body and some sensors instead. should have grabbed the ebrake too but didn't think of it. oh, and some Liberty stuff too (tow hooks, rear gate release, vents that actually move, and a mirror switch).
  3. this sort of thing.
  4. just look at that, uh... super menacing slightly overcast sky. I was thinking you should probably update the title each time to reflect the new contest theme
  5. same here. blows my mind to hear that hollow metal sound when I tap above the rear flares.
  6. from the searching I've done, I've found that the ones that caught my eye usually had the winch mounted higher up and the angled the underside to improve approach angle. the other tidbit I noticed is that once you put some sort of brush guard on top, the pout-y lip appearance goes away pretty quick. as in, the dirtbound bumper didn't strike me the same way. It certainly looks kinda bulky, but the added dimension took away the chin thing.
  7. is there a section of craigslist dedicated to 90 year old cars? how do you find these things?
  8. what about the halfway location, where you trim a bit of the grille away?
  9. seller seems to have had a second one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Jeep-Comanche-XLS-Original-Dealer-Sales-Brochure-2-Sided-Poster/312106909049?hash=item48ab057d79:g:MawAAOSwPCVX~sVN&vxp=mtr
  10. if it turns out ok, be sure to copy/paste and make a separate thread for it in the DIY
  11. I assume those are what the readings are supposed to be?
  12. seeing it on the Jeep.... yeah, it does stick out far enough to start becoming a detriment to your approach angle. I can see why guys go with hidden and partially hidden winches.
  13. that ground clearance!

  15. was looking for something else but came across the Jeep I was talking about:

  17. those little differences pale compared to what happens every time you turn a corner. but yeah, it depends on the awd system. the 242 wouldn't care in the least. a fancy-schmancy modern system might have issue if the speed sensors didn't all match up. but that is a guess on my part. maybe the software is written in a way to accommodate tread differences.

    XJ grill

in theory stainless could be used. but having said that, the stainless parts on my weber grill are finally succumbing to the heat.

    XJ grill

I do wonder how much it warps as it goes through heat cycles.
