they were not metric ton. which is fine since I ended up needing a pair of leafs to hold up my Comanche trailer and it's legally not rated for anywhere near 2000 pounds.

you don't have someone that you trust enough to not run you over? if it makes the noise in drive, but not in park, maybe the torque converter has a loose bolt?

the last axle I bought still had tires and leafs on it so I fashioned a strap to it and pulled it mule-style up the long hill out of the yard. that sucked but it was an MJ d44 so it was worth it.

just an fyi, the factory put a brace on the inside of the door where the tow mirrors attach.

lol. I would still bolt it to the back wall behind the pass seat. our trucks are tiny and there's no space beneath the seats, no room in the glove boxes (unless you get a steel locking wrangler glove box), and I'd prefer not to have to get out of the truck to put it away. still might be a pain if I have to pop the seat forward to access it though. right behind the center console would be good for access, but it might be too visible.

I got a hold of the OP and the pics are dust in the wind so anything you think might help would be awesome. in fact, why don't you start a fresh one?

baby powder can be sprinkled around to help find water leaks. the water will make tracks through it, leading back towards the direction of the source. you don't need much. just a bit around the edges of the floors and then use the hose to try and make something leak. any and all gaps in the sheetmetal are suspect! I've had everything from a bad firewall plug, to the windshield, to the very top of the door allowing rain in if it came from juuuust the right angle.

is it the camera angle, or does the positive cable seem awfully close to the grounded battery tiedown?
