  1. the plot thickens! I found a receipt for an alignment from last summer that includes the owner and mileage (233k). It has a phone number included so I might send out a text to Steve asking about how the Jeep met its demise.
  2. this is some deadpool level of flair. if the link doesn't skip to it, go to about 1min in and watch for 20 seconds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggRlsIUg1wI
  3. old Jeepss are great for nickle and dime-ing you to the poorhouse. But at least they are loads of fun on the way there
  4. aaaaaannnnnnndddd I gotta go back. Didn't think about the gauge cluster being CRD specific and forgot the BCM is under the dash. won't be half off this time though.
  5. just empty every pocket is our motto
  6. title is updated.
  7. aftermarket. stock ones have rear bars that go straight to the leading surface of the wheelwell. that one has a bend and mounts to the top of the wheelwell.
  8. I think this thread is concerning the black one. does it help if you add a 1 to the front of the VIN?
  9. out of curiosity, how much are they asking for a bed?
  10. when it's done raining I'll go out and see if I have the plug at the top of my diff.
  11. one of my favorites was a trip from Detroit to NewYork City to get a transmission/t-case. Took my sis with me and we got to explore some cool places in the big apple for a day before grabbing the trans and heading home. was a really great weekend.
  12. I've driven further for less.
  13. HOAs are indeed the devil if you're an "old car" enthusiast. heck, my regular ol' city in Michigan kept taking me to court over my trucks (I won every case and had a free lawyer so it was both irritating and entertaining )
  14. I thought the speedo was run off a sensor in the rear diff? My ABS in the Libby is very broken but the speedo still works.
  15. oh, I guess I assumed we were talking about on-road performance.
  16. found a couple options on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Trillium-Universal-Heated-Black-Car-Bench-Seat-Cushion-for-Automobile-TWI-1604/152327981928?epid=1672230732&hash=item2377748b68:g:QjkAAOSw7XZXhsJe https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Heated-Black-Car-Bench-Seat-Cushion-Auto-Truck-Van-Winter-Xmas-Gift/192547041527?epid=1652460275&hash=item2cd4b2b0f7:g:iAoAAOSwDkVaFU9s
  17. yes! build threads all around! we need some details!
  18. fixed it for ya
  19. I've seen a bunch of simply seat covers that have heating elements in them and plug into the 12v outlet. or are you thinking of putting them under the fabric?
  20. today I rented a trail and headed to the yard. got the Liberty stuff all loaded up and then asked around about the missing MJ. turns out it was still in the back lot area. the boss man had the guys haul it out for me and even gave me half-off whatever I wanted. got the AX-15, 231, crossmember, front shaft, rear glass and then ran out of time. Still, I was ecstatic to save what I could from the truck. (I grabbed the bed from it last week) when I got home I backed right up to my 88 MJ, ran a strap from it to the drivetrain in the trailer and pulled the trailer out from underneath of it, plopping the KJ unit right where I wanted it to be. easy-peasy. (this plan was helped by the foresight to drop a piece of plywood in the trailer to provide a easy slide surface to scoot over the trailer's floor) all in all, a good 2 days of efforts. now for some pizza and a beer.
  21. barring anything actually wrong with the Jeep, 4.56 is definitely better than 4.10.
  22. I've only ever seen one 4banger gas Libby too. Fortunately the axles were still there for me to pillage.
  23. ooooo, now I want to polish my set of turbines!
