  1. the big debate is swapping in coils, or a partial teardown to install the 4.10 axles and such. Lord knows I've got nowhere to go in it, but funds are low should one of these used parts need some improvements.
  2. holy crap have they gone up in value!
  3. bought a used 12ton press yesterday. tomorrow my new coils should arrive.
  4. pretty sure I've seen that truck before. did you leave a club card behind?
  5. if it's only to be used as a bumper (as in an accident), then the original 3 bolt locations are fine. but if you're pulling on it for extraction purposes, it needs to tie-in further back like the factory tow hook brackets. welding to the frame won't help much, as it's all just sheetmetal and will tear right off. more bolts is better
  6. car-part.com found me mine. you might have to search for various years since the part numbers may have changed through the run.
  7. skim through the link in my signature. I'm sure this has come up before. maybe it's in the "informative picture" thread near the bottom?
  8. dang... sooooooo close...
  9. we need to plan a camping trip!
  10. how's the gap at the back edge of the hood?
  11. you should post this in the Tech forum so more eyes will see it.
  12. my 88 brochure says longbed only for the Laredo
  13. it's on my phone too, but I just realized it's normally a dot and becomes a star in threads you've replied in.
  14. I've had a thought that maybe this is normal, or at least the weirdest part of it. maybe the computer has a fail-safe where if one relay dies, the other kicks on automatically. I've put the word out to my fellow CRD enthusiasts to check what happens when they pull a relay. If that's true and normal, then I can skip on to diagnosing why the fans don't activate when they should be. Or just wire in another relay so lo-speed is all the time and the hi-speed function is on a separate switch. oh, and yes, CRDs all had mech fans and e-fans
  15. my laptop automatically skips down after clicking on the little start (go to first unread post) that's to the left of the thread title.

I believe the second 6 in the VIN indicates an Eliminator?
  17. decent looking truck, though it says 86/inline4 with 118k, but that's clearly an HO 4.0 in the engine bay so real mileage is...??? also, there are no pics of the underside. also, also, those are buckets so... where does that 3rd person sit? also, also, also, would it kill them to clean the friggin' floor mats if they are going to ask that amount of cash? It's like they couldn't be bothered to actually advertise THAT truck instead of just spitting out what the VIN says.
  18. Rusty's came out with one. apparently the fit was poor and was still more expensive than a spare set of factorys. They no longer make it.
  19. I've swapped them back and forth and swapped in known good ones.
  20. not sure what it means, but I can insert one or the other of the relays (low speed activates) and then bypass the other relay with a paperclip and hi-speed activates just fine. but if I slap the other relay in there, both relays shut down.
  21. low speed functions all the time (if only one of the relays is plugged in) and nothing happens if both relays are plugged in. something is amiss in whoville.
