my 87 dealership brochure shows it at the rear

the hockey sticks came out in 88. BUT, they would have come out in the second half of 1987 as an 88 model year. also, my 87-90 parts manual shows only the cab location for the 4x4 badge.

very, VERY few people in this world would ever be able to tell an 87 from a 90. and I'd wager half of them are on the CC. I'm assuming this is for a movie that is set in the year 87?

it's a junkyard search engine. not every junkyard uses it, but a lot do. keep in mind that it organizes things by part number and those can change over time even though the part is still swap-able (Jeep axles for example). sometimes ya gotta search for various years of Cherokee. oh, and I've had luck looking for larger parts, and then calling the yard to ask about smaller ones they may not bother to list.

same way I find everything else. car-part.com and yeah, his new ride is going to be sweet.

I didn't see a way to acquire them aside from a junkyard part. but you might need to seek out a Corvair group to know for sure.

what's the metal cover over a rear engined car called? I guess we could call it a deck lid. certainly sounds weird to say "trunk".

cut out all the rot, weld in new steel, coat with por-15 or chassis saver.

like most fashion fads, none if it ever made any sense. just like angry eyes or Carolina squatting. people like to be unique and push the limits. to them, taste and practicality take a back seat to "LOOK AT ME!".

I do get a kick out of people saying that adding 50 different light pods to the front of a Jeep is new or something.

and a pair of stubby CB antennas, even if they don't function.

personally I would skip adding any chrome unless I could go whole hog on it (mirrors, bumpers, handles, rollbar, etc). just doing a front fascia would look off to me on an otherwise dark truck. as it so happens I just received a offroad magazine in the mail yesterday (purchased for the article on Jeep Motorsports) and this is the cover truck. show trucks back then went nutso on the bolt-ons, especially if it were shiny or brightly colored. it's not a look that has aged well. what is that, 10-12 lights up top? maybe even more shocks? triple rollbar? black out the shiny things and bling-up the black things. all it's missing are some hot-pink shock boots and squiggly stripes. but this is a show truck. not everyone back in the day went in this direction, though bolt-on snazzy things were all the rage. I think your truck would go a long way with the rollbar, louvers, and a lighted visor. maybe some rear mudflaps. oh, and some round tube nerf bars would fit right in.

it's a 6", but triple wall so the outer diameter is a tick over 8". what you see is just a leftover piece that I used outside on the deck. when I get it back inside the house it will have regular 6" up to the ceiling where the triple wall takes over for the rest of the journey.

finally got a hold of Don for some details and it seems he changed his mind and is getting another Ram this year which explains the v8. he said next year he'll get a Gladiator. no Hemi in the Glad... yet...

I go prepared technically that might be someplace in a thread about what everyone carries.
