  1. does your truck have the boxy COMANCHE emblem or the lowercase Comanche?
  2. XLS was top of the line in 86. I see 2-tone paint, upscale interior, chrome everything and even a bed light.
  3. sentimental value is the best kind of value

the silver piece at the bottom goes up and down with the cage. beyond that, I have no idea how it works with a sandwich and have no plans to try.

not so much a recipe as much as a new tool in my toolbox, but I bought a used sandwich toaster. not for sandwiches, but for crisping up my homemade oatmeal/raisin/banana cookies (that are perfect when fresh, but turn all soft within an hour of baking). works great!
  6. well, you're smarter now than you were before. some of the rungs on the knowledge ladder are more painful than others.
  7. wear gloves
  8. that's a slick lookin' Jeep ya got there.
  9. well, I'm certainly not building a fence with 'em (even though it may look like it right now )
  10. I always prefer longer sway bar links to the drop spacers (mostly due to the bolts that attach them just snapping off on northern trucks). you will not need a drop pitman arm unless you're also adding a trackbar drop bracket. smaller tires and less lift will always make a better daily driver. bigger tires and bigger lifts will sometimes make a better offroader. I assure you that if you did, you'd be dreaming of a 4 linking everything for more flex and less spring wrap like lots of other YJ guys. cheap/easy is rarely "better".
  11. I also have the benefit of having weight in the back of my truck. as in many hundreds more pounds than yours. an empty bed won't push down as hard to force the axle to conform to the terrain. also, a locker goes a long way towards keeping traction going.
  12. there are a few different diesel engine swaps in here: https://comancheclub.com/forum/41-mj-hardcore-tech-epic-journeys-to-greatness/
  13. don't worry about the front. front is custom. rear is SOA using stock well-worn leafs with an AAL made from another MJ main leaf (with the eyes cut off and jammed under the current main). the stock 30 year old shackles have not yet proven to be a problem.
  14. 'tis an interesting concept, but I've not yet found myself wanting even more rear wheel travel.
  15. would if I could. it's on my bucket list for sure (to attend, not compete)
  16. lenses. it appears they are just making lenses and you have to separate your housings and glue in the new parts. but they are pure stock from what I've seen and so that leaves open the market for snazzy upgrades.
  17. from scratch? or for a top-off?
  18. ahhh, what a glorious blank canvas
  19. think you can get a refund on that undercoat? love me some original paperwork!
  20. I don't see the photos.
  21. please make sure that some of your awesome projects get their own thread in the DIY forum so more guys will see them
  22. your floors are not immune. water intrusion can happen to any MJ.
  23. free is the best price
