    87 MJ...

    it's a keeper for sure
  3. made it to Michigan. that giant metal parachute sure sucked more gas outta the tank than I was expecting. tomorrow I'll look into improving that.
  4. good to know! I'll gladly pay that price to skip a few hours of driving and stay away from DC traffic
  5. if you're still in southern Conn, then yup. I inserted a rough map in the first post.
  6. it seems tall, but it's shorter than the camper I usually pull with plenty of weight down low (leafs and axles). a lot less aerodynamic up front though. not much I can do about that.
  7. the liberty just isn't reliable yet. still have that random limp mode and there's no way I'm risking that with a big trailer. but with the profits from the trip, I hope to finally remedy that situation.
  8. only had the one that I don't need. It's going to its new owner tomorrow. I asked if anyone already on the list had any special requests.
  9. and so it begins... I already know I'll be making a run to town for more straps. when all is said and done they will be strapped down independently and then tied together to be a single unit. wasn't prepared for the ouch of buying that piece of plywood I'm using as a ramp. dang, wood is expensive.
  10. do they accept kidneys as payment?
  11. I've seen that done too but cardboard is free and I've got a lot of it on hand. this will suffice for a random stay at walmart. when I get the Liberty back on the road as my primary long-hauler, I might shell out a few bucks and do it better.
  12. generally speaking I support the EPA, but this whole thing was super confusing to me last time they brought it up. from a legal standpoint I don't see how they can tell me what I can do with my non-registered car on private property, and the percentage of cars that go down this path is insanely small so... what's the point exactly? what they are contemplating would just kill the whole grassroots motorsports industry. my gut tells me they are actually after the go-fast parts that end up on street cars but this is a weird way to do that.
  13. well, this certainly wouldn't be the first instance of a new part failing prematurely
  14. did you really think I was going to haul all those leafpacks around by hand? the handcart is coming with me though. need that for bed movin'.
  15. roughly the route I'm taking. plus up from atlanta to detroit and then back down to atlanta. dang uhaul won't let me rent this one point to point. oh well, guess I'll have to hunt for some more parts today was staging. tomorrow I go grab the uhaul trailer and start figuring out how to fit it all in.

    XJ vs Trailblazer

snow. tires. also don't drive like a fool.
  17. trailer brakes are generally required for things over 2-3k (varies by state)
  18. need to cut a complicated pattern out of wood or drywall or cardboard? start with paper sheets and tape! just make sure you lightly tape the paper to the glass and strongly tape the papers together so it comes off cleanly and intact. now I've got some blackout panels for the durango I'm camping in next week.
  19. it was a different kit, but yes.
  20. "factory". always gotta put that in quotes since it didn't leave the actual factory like that. still very drool worthy, though not very practical.

it will have a cat, but it's a very simple system. the O2 sensor is upstream of the cat so there isn't a way for the truck to actually monitor the cat. a functional cat doesn't affect power at all so there's no need to remove it. but you wouldn't be the first that hollowed out a bad cat and reinstalled it. but that makes it harder to pass the sniffer so... ymmv.
  22. the max I can fit on the uhaul trailer is 5. and that's stacked in like tombstones.
