pretty sure they were on them, as I feel everyone probably was in an era so close to where cocaine/heroin/etc was in everything. smoked pork or a grilled steak? (assuming all charcoal/woods and no propane or griddle)

Jeep Comanche 2wd to 4x4 Swap and Lift Help
Pete M replied to Tonynguy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the 27 spline is the weaker of the 8.25s (the later model one having thicker shafts with 29 splines), but I'd still take it over the dana 35 any day -
yeah, that chicken was taaaasty! I think I might need a smoker at the house (and father's day is coming up...) "hey dad, I got you a new toy!"
-
I'd rather get a new 3.4L. the old 2.8 had a lot of shortcomings in metallurgy and oiling passages that were fixed by the time the 3.4 rolled out. the 3.4 is a better engine.

Doesn't have to be an AMC, or legible, or even the original selling dealership. I feel we should collect them all before they are repainted and lost forever.

got inspired when I brought home a tailgate from this trip and the poor sticker was faded away. so in the coming days I'm going to hunt down all I can find, either in the barn or in my photo archives. what's on your truck? this particular one is from my newer 88

questions about my new-to-me MJ in Poland
Pete M replied to EagleEar's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
@EagleEar I moved your post over to Tech so more eyes will see it. -
right now I don't even want to drive across town to uhaul.

There are Ford out there that have a flange adapter with the right joint. The Aerostar comes to mind.

Gas is actually cheaper than it was at the start of this thread.

Yeah, I needed that break for sure. nothing like buds and suds and great food to recharge the batteries. we gotta get a powwow together this fall.

Might be cutting my trip short a day. First 'yard apparently had more beds than even they knew about. all shorties though. not exactly the best prices either, but the chance to go home weighed heavily. I'm done with this trip. I'm tired, still drying out some of my stuff, tired, and tired. But at least I've got a sweet spot in the shade to empty the trailer and take a nap while waiting on the guys to get my stuff.

...Meanwhile I'm working on swapping out the 35 from under my trailer...

Cheapest I saw on this trip was 2.75, most was 3.19. Just filled up at 2.83 in southern Virginia.

Sun visor and retaining clip source?
Pete M replied to Coyote's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The visor is rebuildable, you just have to weigh that effort vs finding a decent used one (note that there are two different lengths over the yesrs). The clips can usually be found on ebay (used if course). -
That far west is very unlikely for this trip. I'm absolutely exhausted. Just hitting Virginia and the Carolinas on a few leads before heading back to Atlanta. But you should still pull that bed

Hanging with mjeff on my "day off". Tomorrow starts the official tail of this trip, trying to fill the trailer back up. if uhaul is going to make me bring the trailer back to its place if origin, I might as well make use of it. we'll see if I can get lucky in some southeast junkyards. today is the first day it wasn't raining. Finally got to dry out my jeans and toolbag. The cheap tools did not fare so well.
