  1. not yet sure where to put it on the wall...
  2. I've seem them, although I can't remember if they were for sale, or a preview of things to come.
  3. I would probably test the 02 manually using a multimeter before swapping it out. just in case there's resistance in the harness that's skewing the results.
  4. the only identification clue I've got for mine is that the normal spare tire crank tool doesn't fit the hole in the bed. 86 MJs required a separate screwdriver-looking adapter. but then, that really only applies to the bed, not the frame itself. I'm assuming they have been together the whole time.
  5. even if I got a bigger engine, I'd still regear. 3.07 gears suck. My Dakota R/T had 3.92s and ~27" tall tires. damn I miss that truck.
  6. no, there aren't any vin numbers on the back half that we've been able to find yet. as to getting a new one, every state is different so you'll need to check with your DVM/SOS.
  7. used the half-a-Jeep to get some gravel this past weekend. in total it was 4 trips at 1000 pounds each.
  8. got some goodies off an '86 XJ at the junkyard and one of those things was a pair of beat up AMC mudflaps so I figured they should go on the '86 trailer. being from an XJ I had to figure out how exactly to attach them. close enough for the half-a-jeep
  9. can't win if you don't go.
  10. did you unplug it? the damage is usually inside the connector. more importantly, while you're there check for power.
  11. you're looking for this little release button (image shows a switch upside down). that will allow you to pull the handle out. then unscrew the silver bit remaining at the front with a big flathead screwdriver.
  12. interesting. did the gauge do the full sweep, e to f?
  13. might be time to pull the headlight switch and check its (and it's harness') condition.
  14. just ordered some stainless pipe plus new flex pipe sections and clamps. I'm going to have to slice out the rotted exhaust to gain access to the CPS anyway, so I figured it'd be good to have this on hand ready to go. on the advice of several other CRD owners I'll be deleting the muffler altogether and am curious as to what it sounds like. I'm told the turbo does a good job of keeping it from being obnoxious.
  15. the front corner lights are just marker lights. they don't blink. have you run through Cruiser's MJ tips yet? most are electrical in nature. the link to it is in the link in my signature.
  16. this image hurts my brain.
  17. um... it's important to strap things down. like, super important.
  18. we're all waiting (not so) patently for some action shots. love this build!
  19. I'm assuming fiberglass bodies exist for the '5s? on the other hand, how nice does a Jeep that old really need to be? clearly it shouldn't be falling apart, but that looks like "character rust" at this point. how are the body mounts looking?
