From my experiences with organizing get-togethers, it's wise to gather up names, cell phone numbers, estimated arrival times, places where people are staying, etc and give that list to everyone attending so that communication is possible beyond just trying to use the CB when you get there Saturday. There are a ton of other folks at the badlands on the weekend and there's no guarantee that CB communication is reliable for making first contact with people. I found that the campground was a good spot for meeting (if someone is staying there) as there are fewer rigs in it than the expansive and multilevel parking lot.

Looking back, my MJs have caused lots of mild scratches and of course headaches (caused by frustration or by banging my head when working underneath the 88), but no truly serious injuries. As accident prone as I am and for home much time I spend on them, I find it kinda odd. :hmm:

All you guys with the tiny trucks in your avatar, STAND CLOSER TO IT! Or at least crop the photo a little. Do you know if they've done Jeep inline-6 engines before? Specifically any strokers?

yes It's real easy once you get the hang of it. First you need to host them at another site like Comanche Club Image Hosting. Follow their instructions to upload your pics and then get the picture's internet address. (I usually right-click on the image and select "properties, then copy the address that's listed in there, but the websites might have a different way of doing it.) Then copy that addy and go to the forums. You can add them into your post by pasting the address, then highlight it, then click on the IMG tag. Then the picture should appear in your post. There are some other tips and tricks, but that should get you started. :thumbsup:

This block was professionally rebuilt (.04 over in the cylinders) and I'm not touching the innards with a 10 ft pole. It'll be swapped directly into the 88 as-is. Then, later on (when I have money again), I'll build a stroker like I was going to do before (using the 4.0 and 4.2 I have in storage), put the stroker into the 88 and move this rebuild over to the 90. Or if the 88 works good with the rebuilt motor, maybe I'll put the stroker into the 90 and burn the MTRs down to shreds. :D

Well, since this one turned out to not be a stroker, I'll eventually be going through with my plan to build one using the extra 4.0 and 4.2 that I bought years ago. It's a 12 cw one for more offroad oompf at clutch engagement. Trimming off the extra length isn't too big a problem. Are you asking about how to put pictures in your posts?

Are the cookies okay'ed? It could be a cookie issue. Does it keep signing you out?

I can answer the second question. Just have them cut down the other end and leave the rubber isolator end alone. That's what I did. :D

Many bots are obvious, other's are a bit trickier. Some use real sounding names or use fake email addresses but with hotmail.com or the like in them. So I have to look down the profile and even then, some bots are obvious, some are not. So if I still have any doubts, I google their names or email addys. Frequently the same bot will use the same info on a bunch of other site. And if after all that I still can't tell if it's a person of a bot, I email them and ask. I'd say that 90% are totally obvious right off the bat (both bots and people) and the others require a bit of work.

It's a bot for sure, but he'll never become active. I approve each new member before they can post. We get 5-10 bots a day. I hate them. :hateputers:

It is possible that the switch needs cleaning or went bad, but see if you have voltage at the resistor pack. It's abvoe the passenger's feet and needs like a 7 or 8 mm wrench to remove the screws to pull it out. Be careful, if electricity is flowing through the resistors, it gets very VERY hot.

Yeah, but more expensive than it's worth. :( I've alerted the seller to my findings and he's still adamant that he bought a stroker. I replied back with the whole story and I'm waiting on another reply. Monday I've got some more calls to make and I may even hop the border to talk to the shops in person.

Does it only work on high? Does the switch do anything at all? How did you test the fan?

I would thoroughly clean up the connection surfaces at both ends of the battery cables.

Can't find any counterweights (not sure what I'm looking for), but I did find the casting number and that clearly shows that I have a run-of-the-mill 4.0L crankshaft, part# 3003453. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :dunce: Guess I should change the title of this project to "swapping a bad 4.0 for a good 4.0". :(

My sister loved them and they drew attention everywhere she went. I admit there are better handling ATs out there, but I challenge you to find me some that both stand out that much and are that affordable. :D Being a swamper, they are a true 29" tall and that makes them as tall as most tires that claim to be 30" tall. We went with a 8" wide rim, so I'm not certain how well they would work on the narrower stock rims.

I don't believe I can get these in Camo, but I'll try. :D

Very nice! :D Now ya gotta work on some tires. I recommend the 29" STS like my sis used to have.
