The 3000 number only applies to a select group of camp areas. Philmont as a whole severs over 20,000 scouts and scouters every summer. :D And you only see crowds at the big main camp.

My troop had just gotten to Cimmeron when we saw the ambulances go by. The group that got hit weren't on the top of Baldy and it was well before the normal time for the afternoon lightning strikes. Didn't know any more details, but it was a freak thing for sure. Now, having a bear walk through your camp while you were away and steal one of your foam water shoes, that's considered sorta normal. :D I did get it back though, teeth marks and all. :brows: Eagle Scout here. Obviously still active in my old troop at 31 years of age. It's amazing that one of the first comments in any job interview was about scouting. Either the person across the table is or was or had a son or close friend that was. At the bottom of my resume I list other activities and include Eagle scout and assistant scoutmaster (I'm actually a committee member now, but no one know what that is). I'll withhold Philmont comments for when I compile all my photos. :D P.S. and no, I don't know any knots. I prefer the challenge of figuring out how the over-hand knot can be used for every application. Drives my friend (and fellow Eagle scout) Mike nuts since he loves learning new knots and showing off his skills. :D

The way I figure it, it's not the water that's the problem, but rather the dust and dirt that collects on that ledge and retains the moisture. Cleaning it once in a while should do the trick. :cheers:

This is the best shot I can find. You can just barely see the Bronco leaf perch under the shock's mount. But the Bronco perches don't line up with the MJ leafs, so the shock mount is sorta a leaf perch, but not really. If that makes any sense. :hmm: Bottom line: I wouldn't trust the shock mounts on their own. They aren't thick enough.

Along the length to help support the bar. Control arms are under a lot of stress with wheeling and it's not hard to bend them. Sorta like this: Like I said, it's just something I would do.

I would add some 1/4" ribbing to the arms.

With my stock shocks (SOA with 33" tires), I lose one inch of uptravel (which is fine because I want to keep my stock flares) and one inch of downtravel. It's worked out great so far, but having said that, I'm eventually going with longtravel MX-6 shocks out back. :D

Once you buy 2, it's all over. Next you'll have a 3rd, then a 4th... each with it's own rational for why you needed it. It's a vicious addiction. :D

F-150 springs are too stiff for our lightweight trucks.

What kind of wheeling do you do? What size tires are you looking to get?

The biggest reason mine are where they are is because they also function as my spring perch. Sorta. :oops: Not the best way to do it, but it's worked fine thus far.

Since I'm going to be gone until August 13th and won't be able to continue my research into trying to find a cap place that allows me to get quality caps in various colors until I get back, I'm starting a poll to see if there's enough interest in a Comanche Club ball cap where they are all a nice neutral color like tan/khaki. To refresh everyones memory, the caps are made in the USA and essentially it'd look like this: A low profile ball cap with a version of this stitched on the front: And I'm thinking of "ComancheClub.com" stitched in an arc across the back. We'd be going with the strap on the left.

(I started new posts to separate the hats from the magnets) The new batch of magnets are in! And initial tests are proving that this new supplier makes them water proof! I also had some business cards made up. Same logo as the magnets but in black-n-white and they are printed with some sort of raised-up ink which gives it a textured feel. Didn't ask for it, they just came that way. :dunno: These are totally free to whoever wants some. Just PM me an address and I'll send you a few of each for use as handouts to MJ owners you meet (or to hold your kids artwork to the fridge or whatever). Anyone that has received stickers from me in the past just needs to let me know.

Both of my external slaves had a tiny screw in them that takes an allen wrench. By partially unscrewing the screw you can bleed out the air.

It's fairly straight forward, although I had to do some alterations to make it work with my 9" and the Bronco pads. I think you'll need to buy a new socket-head grade-8 bolt to hold the leaf springs and you need to make sure that the bolt protrudes down past the shock plate and into the spring pad. That bolt is what holds your leafs on the mount. Then just cut away the excess material on the shock mount and install it between the leafs and axle. I fabed my own U-bolt plate, but I imagine you could reuse the stock one. Don't know for sure though.

The brake lights had the dual filament bulbs, yes?
