  1. Need more info and pictures or sure. Short ads never do old trucks justice. :(
  2. Why are you looking at MJs for 4wd stuff? Go find a late model XJ and get some better-then-we-ever-got good stuff. :D
  3. If you have a full cluster previously, the tach will automatically work. Though it might not be all that accurate if it's coming from an engine with a different number of cylinders. Just make sure it's from the right generation. 91+ will be different and unusable. If I remember right, 87-90 will have a slightly different clip for the speedometer cable, but you can use the parts from your current one to make it work. :D
  4. If I have this right, early 2.5s had external, later had internal, much later they went back to external.
  5. The newer Jeeps are a complete one-piece unit from master to the external slave. I adapted my 88 master to the 99 slave that came attached to my trans (had a few inches of line left on it) using a simple 1/4"-5/16 line adapter from the hardware store. Guess he didn't think of it. :D
  6. I simple refrigerator magnet will stick to steel, but not to rust or body filler. The weak magnets work best since a strong one can still attract to the metal underneath.
  7. It's in "night 5" but doesn't mention a specific date.
  8. Cool. I'll be sneaking in to the Detroit show this Thursday. :D I'll bring back pictures.
  9. Most everything I have is craftsman. Sears isn't too far away, but pretty much the only things I've returned so far were phillips and torx screwdrivers.
  10. I would probably fix it up first, but converting to 4x4 is as easy as swapping in a new front axle and transmission. Most guys look for a 4x4 XJ with the same engine and trans (auto or manual). In your case, try to find an XJ with the 5-spd trans rather than the 4-spd. Pretty much all you do is bolt stuff on. :D There are some pitfalls to avoid, so try to check with the group before you actually by anything.
  11. Re-paints always scare me. :( Especially if I can't touch it before buying.
  12. At one point in time the mounting of the master changed. Like from bolts to studs, or something like that. I remember reading about it in the peugeot to AX-15 swap page. I'll let you find it. :D http://www.jeeptech.com/convtrans/ax15swap.html
  13. Best I can do.
  14. You guys and your complicated bumpers. :D (as if mine was a simple execution)
  15. Tell ya what, I'll sticky it in the DIY section. :D
  16. New U-joints are recommended no matter what you do. I had my 2wd shaft cut down locally for pretty cheap.

Depends on what you want. A lot of stuff is shared with the Cherokee XJ.
  18. I had a 2wd shaft cut down to length for pretty cheap.
  19. 78 big Bronco. Rotating the coil buckets did help a small bit, but what you see is what I got after doing it. For truck coils are too stiff for little trucks. I used 3" lift MJ/XJ coils. (using the ford radius arms setup gives about 2" of lift because the coil buckets are higher than the Dana 30 stuff). I have no idea how much travel I had before. The truck was 2wd. :D Heck, I've never owned a "normal" lifted MJ. All I know is that I have plenty of travel for what I need. :brows: Just remember that the poly bushings suck.
  20. naw it ain't. if we set the date now you can book it for then I'm just saying that at this point in time I have no opinion on which weekend you pick. You guys pick one and I'll do my darndest to get there. :D

I encourage you to ask any ol' question that comes to mind. :D That's what we're here for. Also, if that truck is as clean as the poor picture makes it look, I'd buy that one up in a heartbeat.
  22. :agree:
  23. If you swap the front fenders, then your front flares won't match the rear flares. It's not a simple task to swap on rears since MJ rear flares are bigger than XJ rear flares. Although one of our members was patching together a couple sets of 97+ XJ flares to create his own MJ rear flares. Personally, I'd keep the stock front fenders and do my best to blend them into the 97+ header assembly.
  24. waaaaaaaaaay too far in the future for me to pick a specific day. :(
