I always like to recommend exercising caution in situations like this. There's always a chance the guy's in the hospital or some other extenuating circumstances. And I like to exchange phone numbers before sending parts/money. Email is so unreliable. :hateputers:

Some quick and dirty research a while back pointed to ABS equipped 93-95 YJs having the right shafts for the bigger joints. Don't know for sure what is accurate though. :(

Holy cow, guys. :roll: The steel is cut, there's no need to keep crying over spilled milk. It's his truck that he rescued from oblivion and decided to make a bad-azz trail rig out of it instead of keeping it a stocker. I would like to see some better "after" pics though. :brows:

Is the rear axle a Dana 35 or an 8.25?

Don't think of the MTs as having an "extra" leaf, but rather being a completely different pack. My '86 MT doesn't look any higher than my '90 4x4 but I've never gotten out the measuring tape (which won't happen any time soon either since there's an engine block in the back of the MT and the 90 has a custom pack so nothing would be reliable). New leafs will likely be different than junkyard leafs. All depends on the manufacturer.

The sample hat should arrive Monday. Too bad I'll be 1200 miles away in Disney. :headpop: But I sorta expected as much. Nothing else has happened in a timely manner, why should that? I can only imagine how long this would have taken if we had gone with the Chinese-made hats. :roll: You better believe I'm calling the guy on Monday to see if the hat arrived. :D

Sorta, but not in any practical sense. I can get IP addresses. But this forum software only lets me see the IP after they post, not when the just sign up, so it's a catch 22. To keep the site clean I have to keep them from posting, but if I keep them from posting, I can't see their IP. But even if I could ban all of them, new spammers are popping up all the time or using slave computers to do their dirty work so it becomes a never ending ask and almost not worth it (except to make me feel better :D ).

Yup. Nothing improves fuel mileage quite like replacing old parts. :D

Go to a free photo hosting site like photobucket.com or picturetrail.com and follow their instructions for uploading your stuff. Then get the addresses of your photos and paste them here. Then highlight the addresses one at a time and click on the IMG tag above the typing box. It may take a couple tries, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy. :D

I bet it was a rolling billboard rather than an actual racer. Maybe he intends to restore it?

It was my fault they got through. I was playing around with some forum settings and one of them had the opposite effect I thought it would. Oh well, live and learn. :roll: I am surprised that only a couple posts happened though. We had about 8 spam bots sign up in the same period of time. :hmm:

The guy at the sticker shop (the only one in this chain o' fools I actually get to speak too) is a cop, so I think I'll pass on that. :D He knows what I'm going through, so I have a bit of faith that he's trying on his end. But if you want to swing by and give him an earful, be my guest. :D

We're waiting on a phone call from the sticker shop that the sample hat is in. :popcorn:

Be very very careful about rust. My 86 was rust-free when I first bought it. Only took a couple salty Michigan winters to start the red cancer and now it's pretty bad in places. Wash it religiously!
