  1. No, shimming the CAD won't hurt anything. It makes it like you've got a one-piece axle shaft on the passenger side, that's all. No Jeep since '95 has had a CAD and they all work fine. :D Just don't drive around on dry pavement in 4wd. That's bad no matter what.
  2. I would get a non-CAD front axle. And I wouldn't worry too much about the 4wd transmission harness. To the best of my knowledge, I think it only turns on the little 4wd light on the dash (which your 2wd truck won't have anyway). Oh, and you can have the 2wd rear driveshaft cut down to size if you can't find the right 4wd rear shaft.
  3. Well, I guess my season if over. Went to draft someone and the site told me the playoffs are starting. Dang. And there was finally a good QB up for grabs. :fs1:
  4. ifsja.org says they should be a pair of 44s.

    My MJ

If you right-click on your images at the pituretrail site, then click on the "copy image location" in that menu (might say something a bit different if you're using explorer) and then paste that here, highlight it, and then click on the IMG tag right above the texting box, you'll be able to post your own pics.
  6. I started a M+G post in the "wheelin" forum. Go add some input so we can try to figure something out over the next week.
  7. If you want to run big tires, then you need to upgrade your shafts because otherwise you're stuck with the puny 260 U-joints. Find some axle shafts from a late model XJ or TJ and kill two birds with one stone (297 shafts and kiss that CAD goodbye forever).
  8. Fill plug is on the back side right about in the middle of the t-case. And yes, ATF.
  9. That's a bit more than the magazines all said they would go for. :( They are probably ion backorder because other companies are snatching them up to resell. Oh well.
  10. Early AX-5s were external, then they switched to internal (and then back to external but that was after the MJ was gone).
  11. Well, then I can at least answer one of your questions. The timing isn't adjustable. It's set and control by the computer.
  12. Probably the vacuum line is broken or when you swapped in the new t-case something didn't line up right or maybe the fork or the little vacuum shifter was sticking in place. Either way, if you do the mod to keep the collar slid over all the time, you won't need the vacuum lines anymore.
  13. The Peugeot is on the right. My advice is to ask around and try to find a used one in decent shape. Some guys could do a whole AX-15 conversion for the price of a new Peugeot mount. :(
  14. 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder? Is the slave inside the bellhousing or outside the bellhousing?
  15. Haha, I knew that and still screwed it up. :shake:
  16. Oh, you must have missed that. "Big B" lost his gig at the dealership. :( Did you at least notice in time that we ordered club T-shirts?
  17. In its current form my 88 maxes out at about 55. Maybe 65 if I'm going downhill and tailgating a semi. What's your point? :D It's hyperbole man. All I was saying is that he probably shouldn't be mad at the XJ for giving poor fuel mileage at 80 mph. :smart:
  18. Just to avoid confusion, export 2.5L trucks could be found with a carb, as well as the 84-85 2.5L XJs.
  19. Um. you should be able to get them through your local Chrysler or Jeep dealership. They are sold through Mopar. I'll bet there are other companies selling them online though. As expensive as they are, I would shop around for the best price (shipping might be a bummer with the internet companies). Careful as you research the internet for info on these. Some of the early info coming out of people's keyboards was crap. :shake:
  20. It's the TJ rubi that sucks (low pinion front, Dana 30 parts, etc). The new JK rubi has sweet axles underneath. They are AAM M-44s with a high pinion front axle. The rubi versions come with 4.10 gears and selectable lockers in them. :D
  21. I hadn't heard that yet. Do you remember what part specifically?
  22. I know you said you don't have any, but I'm still posting this: :needpics: Go buy a video camera!
  23. Yeah, it can steal your life away in more ways than one. :(
  24. Oh and now we're leaving on Thursday. Was able to get a dealership appt for the Liberty on Weds and I'd like to have that blower fan recall done before we put another 750 miles on it. :shake:
