  1. 87-90 MJ/XJ should go right in.

    4x4 manches

The last 3 I've purchased were under 300 each. Only one was 4wd, but I gutted the old drivetrain anyway since it was old and inferior (to what I put in). Just gotta keep your eye out and cross your fingers.
  3. It would look awesome! Like when I pop out of my MJ wearing a Colorado XJs shirt. :D I need another. Might need a zippered hoodie too. :D I'll send an email when I figure it all out.
  4. Or the TPS. I also would start by cleaning the throttle body area and sensors with an o2-safe cleaner.
  5. how much articulation are you looking for? My uneducated guess is that the road manners will be dependent on your link setup.
  6. I wonder if there's a Rosetta Stone lesson for it. :D
  7. I haven't got any new details, but last I heard they had a tentative length of hospital stay (another week or so) and then a plan for rehab, so I'm going to take that as "good" news. (the lack of bad news is good, right?) I don't know if she's out of the woods yet.
  8. Tomorrow is supposed to be 39* here. :clapping: First day above freezing in... um, a long time. It's been so long I don't remember. :shake: If it wasn't for the hose being frozen under 2 feet of snow, I'd wash the van tomorrow.
  9. Yes, absolutely. The difference is simply due to different axles have different size gears with different numbers of teeth where the closest you can get when doing the division is off by 0.01.

Why bother? Just find a nice 2wd and bolt in the 4x4 parts. You can even take the opportunity to bolt in late model XJ parts that were better than stock MJ parts (better gears, stronger axles, stronger transmissions).
  11. Some of us are occasionally in Loganville. :waving:
  12. I'm not entirely familiar with the inner workings of the Jeep HVAC system, but maybe a blend door is stuck? How does the ductwork separate cold AC air from the heater core air? (meaning if you had the AC on but didn't want it at max, how does it regulate what comes out the vents?)
  13. there's a good chance he's using his phone to send that. :D
  14. Any year 2.5L. And any year t-case with the 21 spline input (all 2.5/2.8Ls and 87-90 4.0). I seem to remember that there were a couple choices for input shaft length on the t-case. I'm not positive on the details, but the safest way would be to get them already bolted together as a unit. Maybe someone will be able to fill in that part.
  15. Yup. The normal orientation of the swing arm is parallel to the ground and pointing to the passenger side.
  16. Why do you need 4? 2 MJs? A set of good condition used springs assembled with your current main leafs (with the eyes cut off) thrown in as AALs (under the new main leafs) should produce about an inch of lift over stock.
  17. It's been a while since I've played around with the 91+ style, but the grille insert should just come out with about 8 screws and 91-96 XJs should swap. Earlier models were slightly different.
  18. Are you linking the thumbnail? Or is that the full size of the image?
  19. How much do you like your tires?
  20. The center plastic grille or the whole fiberglass surround?
  21. What size tire do you have? Is the original Cat still on the truck?
  22. It'll come off with patience and elbow grease, but he paint underneath will look different.
  23. Closed system is sealed and pressurized, while the open system is vented to an overflow bottle. The pressure allows the engine to run a bit hotter, which in turn provides more efficiency/power. It can be a temperamental system though. The pressure bottle is known to sprout leaks after 20 years of service. Also, the 87-90 Jeeps aren't the only vehicles to use a pressurized system. My neighbor's Caddy Deville uses a similar set-up.
  24. Rick's (xjs4ever) wife was in a bad accident yesterday and is very banged up. :( Rick is quite distraught as you can imagine, and both could use everyone's thoughts and prayers. I don't know if you'll see this Rick, but we're pullin' for her. It just really sucks being 1400 miles away. :fs1: --Pete
  25. Is the water pump failing?
