  1. Ahhhh. That would be a good reason. I highly recommend an additional crossmember and support to hold up that heavy case. I doubt the AX-5's case can take the stress for very long.
  2. Keep me posted. I was looking at it too.
  3. Sop you're the one that bought that. How's the rust on it?
  4. A lift won't necessitate longer bumpstops. Bigger tires necessitate longer bumpstops. YJ brake lines can be used up front, 95 Dakota in the rear.
  5. My mom's old Yamaha. Cleaned it up and sold it a couple years back.

Used to be. I cleaned it up and got it back on topic (and in accordance to our new rules, the posts were moved, not deleted). Well, it was on topic for a minute at least. Now we're talking about the talking. :D
  7. A 21 spline 242 is somewhat rare-ish. Should be able to sell it to a Renix owner or 2.5L owner.
  8. Got an email from Rick (been hearing everything 2nd or 3rd hand so far). Turns out it wasn't a car accident, but a really bad fall (when I heard "accident", I assumed the vehicular kind). Cindy is more responsive today, and is able to wiggle her toes and write messages with her hand. :D
  9. Driveshaft should be fine. What are you doing about the t-case?
  10. 1: no 2: no (use the pilot bushing from an 84 CJ with the 304 engine. costs like $2) 3 use the bellhousing and internals from the AX-15. Try to get them all from the new trans, including the slave cylinder and most of it's line. You won't need anything from the Peugeot except the master cylinder and part of the hose 4 that trans is the best era of AX-15.
  11. An insanely heavy t-case with a poor low range. I gotta ask why you would want to try and adapt it into your Jeep. :???:
  12. Crawl underneath and look? :dunno: I don't have any 2wds at the house so I can't help much.
  13. I think JT posted that in the wrong thread.
  14. What you saw was his practice runs for the competition (shot to be made into a video). From what I can tell, gymkana is all a bunch of complicated turns and drifts around obstacles. Sort of like a freestyle event combined with a race. Check out this vid of an actual competition run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHgjFPhhzY8
  15. The paint is still shiny. :D I've never owned an MJ with shiny paint. :( I'd restore it and drive it. Very few 92s were made.
  16. Tap? no. Drill? maybe. I used 2 of the steering box holes and one empty through-hole on the drivers side. On the passengers side I used 2 existing holes and drilled one. There are kits out there that will do pretty much the same job. The company name escapes me at the moment.
  17. With big long mounting brackets like these. You'll want to use as many big grade 8 bolts as you can (sometimes including the steering box bolts like I did)
  18. Cheap and Jeep can indeed go together, but "Jeep, cheap, and tall lift" very rarely go together. Usually you can only have 2 of the three.
  19. Never a good thing when an axle smiles at you. :D
  20. Here's a thread on picture posting. It can be tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11077

Are you guys all finished yet? Not exactly following rule number one, are we?
  22. I hope someone makes a project out of it. :D
  23. I concur. :D Although my half-a-jeep isn't right hand drive.
  24. If you only spin one rear tire, you rotate the tire twice and count the revolutions of the driveshaft. If both tires will spin together, then you only rotate them tire once. Counting the revs is a fairly reliable way to tell what's inside. The general rule of thumb is that a 2.5L + 4speed manual will have 3.55 gears. But it's no guarantee, especially in 86.
