Then you likely have 3.55 gears and should be hunting for a 2.5/5-speed XJ so you can get the 4.10 geared axles. :thumbsup:

Is yours the 4speed auto or 4speed manual?

I only feel like one. :bowdown: I probably need to visit a bit more often than once a year before anyone at america's largest single-site employer will notice lil' ol' me walking around. :D But if I move to GA, I'll only be 7 hours away, not the usual 19. :brows:

Truly awesome tires! I have a set on the van and they are one of the greatest street tires ever. Too bad the sizes are all car sizes. :shake: I wanted a set for the Libby but no dice.

Yup, some great info there. But sometimes you have to be careful with the comments. Tirerack is where I first learned that different sizes of the same tire are not necessarily made equal. There were a lot of negative posts about the tires I got for the Libby. Some research showed that the boo-hoos were from people who had the 17" version (based on the vehicle they said they had), not the 16" version. I've since seen them next to each other and the tread is similar, but not the same. Bigger gaps in the 17s. Same with people who had the car sizes of the ST tire the Libby first came with. Bad road manners, no traction, crappy lifespan, etc. Our version (225/75) worked great in all weather conditions and lasted 60k+ miles. :cheers:

4wd has a tendency to transform crappy tires into awesome tires. My guess is she's not shifting. (but remind her to shift back out when it's dry) The long trails are a decent tire.

I've heard the 2.8L blocks have more issues than just pathetic power output when stock. Something about the tiny oil passages. If it were my truck, I'd look into the 3.4L swap. Did you get an alignment yet? And I'd look into some longer LCAs for a 3" lift.

Many states will allow a title to be issued if you have a bill of sale of other documentation to prove ownership. Sometimes it's only a salvage title, but it's still enough to drive it. Double check with your motor vehicles department before you go slicing and dicing such a rare truck. :thumbsup:

Ummm, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember either one of those engines having a reputation for power or fuel economy.

Don't forget that most 30" tires are actually closer to 29" tall. :D

That thought has occurred to me more than once. But the roofs were installed back when the truck was 2wd, long before any thoughts of a 4wd conversion. :shake:

I fire them up and moved them from one side of the parking lot to the other (to keep in accordance with our city's 30 day rule). None gave me any issues (well, no new issues anyway). :D

Some quality black seat covers would likely be the easiest way. :thumbsup:

I only buy used tires. You can save a bundle on great performing tires that are lightly used. :thumbsup: Check your local craigslist.org
