  1. If my trucks weren't in so much need of other stuff, I'd consider doing that mod preemptively on them. :D
  2. Holy cow I need some money. :D
  3. I almost want to do that preemptively to all my trucks! MonkeyWrench
  4. Haha! More power!!
  5. Not sure. Someone else here should know that though.
  6. Very nice. :D Do make sure that new body goes to an appreciative owner to build up.
  7. Looks like he's got that special order widetrack rear axle. :D
  8. :clapping: Who'da thunk that a couple pieces of sheetmetal couldn't pull out a 5k lb truck?
  9. A bucket of water will confirm that. :D
  10. Lengthening a driveshaft (by adding a short length of tube to the existing tube) is not recommended. Find a longer one and get it shortened. I would hang on to your current one for the day you upgrade to a Dana 44. :D
  11. If you pour water into the cowl, you should see it come out below, behind the fender. I would be looking inside the cowl for cracks or rust holes.
  12. New pressure bottles have been showing up on ebay for pretty cheap.
  13. In my humble opinion, the AMC 20 is quite under-rated. It's gotten a bad wrap from the CJ 2-piece shafts, and the ginormous weight of the Waggys (5k+ with passengers) sitting on them. The MJ has neither of those drawbacks. :D
  14. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15197
  15. What all comes with the Mopar repair kit? One of the upper hinges in my rust free shell has just started to crack the welds. :(
  16. It's a decent price if the axle is in decent shape.
  17. You only need the factory parts off a PS equipped MJ/XJ with the same engine. Pump, resevoir, brackets, belt, power steering box, etc. Anything associated with it. Where do you live?
  18. If they are for a 6" XJ lift, the fronts will work, the rears can be made to work (depends on where you're locating the lower mounts).
  19. Give him a club business card. :D I remember the controversy over those pictures. It was hilarious. :rotf:
  20. You can snag an AX-5 from a 2.5L/2.8L Cherokee/Comanche or 2.5L Wrangler of any year. Another good upgrade for you is to grab the rear axle out of that rig you get the trans from. As a general rule of thumb: 2.5L+4spd manual = 3.55 gears, 2.5L+5spd manual = 4.10 gears
  21. This article should give you a good start: http://jeep.off-road.com/jeep/article/a ... ?id=277008
  22. Chrysler's new oil spec now call for 10w-40 engine oil in the AX-15. And for what it's worth, I've had a couple manual trannys in my Jeeps that needed to warm up a bit to work well. :dunno:
  23. Once the XJ is on the dolly, I would unbolt the rear shaft from the rear axle (it's only 4 nuts) and strap it up securely under the Jeep. If you pull the driveshaft from the t-case, the fluid will come pouring out.
