  1. Just be sure to double check the gearing.
  2. Club window banners and how to get them can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9208
  3. I've changed the "title" in his post. Still hasn't affected the thread tittle. :wall:
  4. I did merge them. But the program apparently took the title of the newer post and no, I can't change it back. It won't let me. :dunno:
  5. So in other words, you're saying that the guy at the junkyard should have a title for it? :brows:
  6. At least the $300 taillight type of people are entertaining. :D My thing is that the junkyard guy simply hadn't followed the rules yet and JT jumped down his throat. That was unnecessary. Need a bit more patience next time.
  7. I forget the width, hopefully someone else has that on hand. As to the spring under/over, it doesn't matter. You'll be burning on new perches with any axle swap.
  8. That didn't stop me from my last MJ purchase. :D
  9. Yup. But he'd be doing that twice anyways. Who the heck wants 3.31 gearing? :dunno:
  10. I'd only buy the front 44. Then I'd go buy a rear 44 from a ~95ish 6cyl Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport. It's a Dana 44 with the same width and bolt pattern as the Waggy, but with disk brakes and a 4.10 or 4.30 ratio already installed. The only catch is you'll want to install a U-joint flange on it instead of the flat flange.
  11. Nah. I'd really be showing off if I could figure out how to merge the two topics and keep the title of the first thread. :hmm:
  12. I don't have power to do mass PMs. Only mass emails. :dunno:
  13. I'm a big fan of the straight lines with the fittings already attached. I did that on my '88 MJ when I redid everything. Just bend them to shape and bolt them on (to do the line running from front to back, I joined 3 straight lines together). But that only works if they have the fittings that match the truck. When I converted to the '95 XJ double booster, I had to buy bulk tubing and reuse the fittings from the new and old parts on my '90 MJ. Some gratuitous brake line photos. :D
  14. That's worthwhile enough to add to the suggestions. Good luck getting people to do it though. No one ever reads the stickies. :shake:
  15. Ummmm. That's certainly a creative thought. I'll swing that by the sticker guy near me and see if he has any ideas.
  16. Whoops. Yours wasn't supposed to leave. I've now moved it back. Guess I'm still not an "expert" at merging/splitting. :shake: That's a good point on having prices. I forgot all about that.
  17. Nothing was deleted. I just moved them out of the thread to clean it up. JT, I totally understand your concerns, but the fact remains that I can't force someone to care about MJs, their owners, or this site. I could theoretically force them to post up 25 or 30 posts, but that won't make them care. An example: right now I've got a pair of Bronco axles I want to liquidate (need the money more than I need the 4.88 gears) and the cast wedge design pretty much narrows my potential buying pool to a select few. So I go to a Bronco website that I've been on before back when I owned a 78 Bronco, and my lack of "recent" activity means I have to start from scratch trying to find posts in the tech section that I've got answers too. I gotta tell ya, I don't know a whole lot about the old Broncos, and all the easy questions that I might have answers to are already answered. I don't own a Bronco anymore. It's long gone. Just a memory and a title hanging on the wall. I have no desire to buy another. And it just gets me angry me as I spend my time trying to find productive responses when all I want to to pass the axles on to someone who needs them. If you want to encourage someone to interact with the group, how about sending them a friendly PM? Maybe asking them a question or something? I seriously doubt that someone who wasn't inclined to join our conversations before, is suddenly going to be all gung-ho to share their MJ knowledge after someone rips them a new one in a public venue. :dunno:
  18. Don't sweat it. Just the other day I said that 2.5Ls have a timing "belt".
  19. For that price I'd be looking into making a custom mount. :ack: Maybe try to fit an AX-15 mount somehow? Not sure if they share any common bolt dimensions though. Probably not. :( Heck, for that price I'd be looking into swapping in the entire AX-15.
  20. Oh snap, you did NOT just say that. All MJ leafs are the same length, regardless of bed size (or payload or number of powered wheels). But he is right on the other stuff. Metric Ton models will have a bit stiffer springs, and 4wd models sit about an inch higher than 2wd.
  21. With having done zero scientific research on this, I prefer hub-centric because the center hub shares the loads with the lugs.
  22. I've thought about that too. Mostly because it'd give more ground clearance. But I'm not going to do it until I can get a Hi-9 diff in the back. :D Matching your front driveshaft is a great idea. I hadn't thought of that.
  23. Make sure you get TJ rims and not the JK rims (unless you're planning on running spacer/boltpattern adapters).
  24. I demand to see the pile of cash!!
  25. Please don't spend any money trying to rebuild a Dana 35. The axle is so weak that it may fail again in short order. :(
