put the t-case in neutral. jack up on rear tire. rotate it around twice (which simulates rotating both tires once) and count how many times the driveshaft spins. :thumbsup:

I start with the engine off and get as far as I can, then have a buddy fire it up for a bit. Having the second party around is more of a safely measure than anything so that they can kill the engine if something goes wrong.

The best way I've found to get that last bit of air out is raise up the back of the truck so the sir will naturally rise to the back of the engine and then use the temp sensor at the back of the head as the air escape valve. If you unscrew it carefully, the air can escape before you pull the sensor completely off :thumbsup: Be very careful and use gloves and eye protection as well as drape a rag over the temp sensor so anitfreeze doesn't spray all over the place.

Several guys here have rebuilt their ax-5s. Can you snap a photo of your fork? Maybe they will recognize the shape.

Eagle is still a Mod (and he's not going anywhere), he just won't be listed at the top of the forum. When anyone has any forum questions or whatever, they should write to Rob, Don or myself. :thumbsup:

Nothing wrong with the rough country stuff. They are a decent middle of the road kit. Rubicon Express is pretty much the top o' the heap though if you're looking for a comparison.

ask for proof that it's a jasper rebuild and then double check that against the vin in the truck. :thumbsup: Other than that, it wounds like a decent price.

I would get a longer track bar. otherwise your axle will be off to the side by a bit.

As you may have noticed, there's been some changes to the mods on the ol' CC. Eagle has chosen to step down for a while and Qui Gon has been really busy lately (but will be still covering forum technical issues), so we've got a couple "new" guys that will be stepping up for day-to-day mod duties. If you've been observant today, you've already noticed that it's Hornbrod (Don) and automan2164 (Rob). Please be patient with them and me for a bit since I'm still working on making sure they actually have their mod super powers and I'm sure there will be a period of transition as they get used to their responsibilities. have you thought about the 3" kit that hellcreek carries and building onto that? there's nothing wrong with solid arms.

those 4.0s are insanely tough. I've had the 88's temp gauge buried in the red on 3 separate occasions with seemingly no ill effects. :dunno: what it takes to do what you want depends on how much you'd like to swap. the block interchanges fairly easy. the head brings on a bit more complexity. swapping the intake even more, etc. My searching skills aren't bringing up the threads I'm looking for :hmm: , so hopefully someone else can jump in here.
