    always grab the caps. and yes, you'll want to pull the rim nd then pop the cap out to avoid damaging the plastic by prying.

    nice XJ haul! the fuel pump ballast resistor can be simply bypassed if you ever have doubts about it. it's not necessary for functionality, only to make the pump less noisy.

    some of the parts you'll want to buy new (you'll find them individually, not as a kit), but most you'll be grabbing from the junkyard (the hvac box and hoses for example).

    a vacuum leak can definitely affect things. can you share pictures?

    do you have a multimeter? the various sensors can be tested. also you should accomplish all of Cruiser54's MJ tips. most are electrical related. all those things can be found in the link in my signature.

    found one needs a bit of touchup with a sharpie, but it's good enough for the wall.

    the paper parts manual says 1987 only I would not have put money on that narrow of a range.

    holy crap, I just realized I'm missing the Command trac!! how did that happen?! but I should have that in the barn. I'll check tomorrow.

    I'll happily take any MJ emblem that's missing. I do have the individual J e e P header letters but haven't figured out how to mount them without popping off the studs.

    finally got some on the north wall. and yes, one of those is NOS. still need a metric ton and a select trac. the cherokee emblem is a filler until I get those. huge thanks to the guys that sent me the missing items.

    truly a cause for celebration. what was the issue?

    what's your caster set to? this is a stock 2wd MJ. the coils could definitely touch the Cs if the caster was changed.
