it's all "fixable". cut out bad stuff - weld in good stuff. Since you won't be doing the work, the question becomes more of a "can I find someone that's willing to do it". Got any welding friends in your new neck of the woods yet? :brows:

bumpstop choices are more dependent on your tire size and wheel choice than your outright lift amount. what tires/wheels are you running?

his has little tires on it. just a DD. after the first one went he got another 44a from the junkyard. nope. it was also shot. If I remember right he returned it for, gasp, a Dana 35. :( but the 44a centersection is used in vettes and vipers, so I don't know what the reason is for the Jeep failures (rob's ZJ isn't the only one). :dunno:

Rob (automan) might disagree that that is the only drawback. He's gone through 2 of them so far on his ZJ. :( the bearings give up too easily.

well, we should do it all on the same day. probably a weekend so they get to work and find a whole bunch of MJs in their inbox. :D

drivetrain means more to me than interior (that's what junkyards are for) and if the XJ really truly has 4.10 gears and the drivetrain is in good shape, I'd snatch it up and piece together an interior later on.

I still would insulate the garage up to house specifications (you seem to be almost there) and then run some duct work from the furnace (exactly how will depend on your setup, my house would be tough but my sister's house would be simple). Unlike what I said earlier, I probably wouldn't just leave the house door open. :D but I'd seriously consider making the garage just another part of the household furnace system. think about it, if you let your garage freeze, then kick on the new secondary unit, it'll take a while to get the air reasonable, but it'll take forever to heat up the truck and your tools (and it'll stink the entire time). And you'd waste a ton of fuel every day you went out there to work, even if it was only for an hour. Especially for this winter, where the garage is destined to be a project room and not a car port (meaning the garage door is likely going to remain shut), I'd infinitely prefer that everything just be warm, maybe not 70* like the house, but definitely not 20* with a hot flame burning whenever I'm out there. choice is yours though.

I was never crazy for the Libbys either... until I got to drive the CRD. I love that engine. the seats still suck.
