Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. OH. & do I need to replace the uppers & lowers?
  2. Yup. It was pretty obvious while trying to put them in. If they had fit, the front top of the lower control arm would of been rubbing on the perch. Thanks for the info. Time to empty the piggy bank. Any advice on new ones???
  3. Calling CWLongShot. What the hell is the trick to getting the front springs in??? I removed the lower control arm bolts and got the springs in. Then when I tried to line it up to replace bolts. I couldn't get it positioned right. It kept fighting me till it was so bound up I had to remove the springs. The guy who I spoke to on the phone when ordering told me stock control arms would work, but I have a feeling he had no idea what he was talking about. Once again, 6" lift. 2" spacers & old man emu springs. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
  4. So true. I do like stillson the best. sounds more professional. Anyways, They came right off. About the only thing that has come right off w/out a little heat. Thanks for the help.
  5. Oh yeah. Whats a stillson wrench? I've never heard that term. I love google. I know it as a pipe wrench.
  6. Cool. I knew they came off somehow. I will go try to remove them now.
  7. Sorry for starting another post, but I need some help. Installing a lift on my 87. Does the part pictured need to be removed & if so how the heck does it come off. Only 2 reasons I ask is because in the directions there is a picture where it is missing, & 2, if it doesn't come off, I'm going to have one heck of a time installing spacers & springs as they (spacers) will not go over the collar of pictured bump stops. BTW, this is a rocky road 6" lift. Thanks in advance for the help.
  8. Still here. Had to do a clutch in my 89 before continuing with this one. Scored a 6" lift, some used wheels & some exhaust parts. Now its time to get busy. Got the back finished last night. Going out to do the front this morning. More pictures later tonight. :typing:
  9. After checking part #'s I decided it just looked different. Correct part indeed. Fixed? YES. Runs great. Have a small overheating issue I will fix tomorrow. But hopefully I'll be driving it by the afternoon. Thanks for all the help
  10. It was the injector on # 6. Unfortunately the new one I picked up looks different then the others, so I'll have to wait till tomorrow after checking with the auto parts store. I even checked the part # on line & it said it was the correct one. The tops a little longer & it looks to me that the rail wouldn't fit correctly once bolted down. We'll see. Update tomorrow.
  11. I will. Have to wait till tomorrow though. If its dry, I'll swap injectors out. Thanks for your help. I'm just excited its getting closer to running right. Then I can order my lift.
  12. Sorry. I diagnosed it wrong. I should of said that it isn't firing on that cylinder. I just figured it was spark. But no. I just ran outside & pulled the pug & it is sparking. Must be fuel. I'm 100% sure its not firing on that cylinder. I'm going to check the injector tomorrow. Any tips on that?
  13. After putting a new head & exhaust manifold on the truck, it ran exactly the same as before all the work. Only reason I put a new head on it is because I got a great deal on it. Anyways. After some simple test's I found that cyl. # 6 has no spark. Popped in a good used distributor I had on the bench & the same thing. No spark on 6. Any tips for diagnosing when be greatly appreciated.
  14. Nice rig. Great deal
  15. Saw this truck a few days ago & knew I had to have it. 89 Comanche pioneer. 4.0, 5 spd. & only 87,000 miles. I'm going to do nothing to it, except drive it. OK maybe new wheels & tires. I'm pretty stoked
