typical price for regearing an axle is 400-600 bucks. Get that $350 TJ axle. The low-vs-high argument is just splitting hairs. plenty of TJ owners out there rockin' their stock axles. plus it'll have the bigger U-joints. :thumbsup:

but they don't look for every single thing that might possibly interchange, so you need to run multiple searches to hit each era of each Jeep.

working on finding someone local that can do that for us. more than anything, I want someone watching over my shoulder, showing me how to navigate the insane menus and weird upload screens (and making sure I don't zap the entire shibang.) I'd like to save all our data and then install the forums from scratch using the most recent version. :D and this site will never have a flipoff smiley. too easy to use and can easily make a bad situation worse. can't stop guys from importing it, but I'll never have it on our menu. :cheers:

have you tried watching the fuel spray pattern on the fuel injector? done a general tune up lately?

don't knwo about the plugs, but the steering column comes out fairly easily. couple of huge bolts in the cab and under the hood. do you have a Haynes manual? they should have that procedure in there and go step by step. :thumbsup:

could be a vacuum leak too. one that only shows itself as the engine warms up.

what's an air charge sensor? I don't think any sensor is bypassable. what are you trying to accomplish?

dunno. there are a dozen ways for water to get down under the carpets. some will leak in a few gallons during a good rain storm. I don't know how that would all evaporate out. :dunno:

were you shifting from below while someone was shifting from above?

maybe. With tires that big, I was thinking that aftermarket rims are pretty much a given. The backspacing will most certainly be a concern when choosing them. :thumbsup:
