I'm fairly certain that all 904/909's have the same bolt pattern and share the same internals, but beware that later model ones that came behind the 2.5's in YJ's have a 23 spline output (if yours is a 4WD). THey will bolt up fine, but if you have a 21 spline transfer case (input), you'll be going nowhere in a hurry..... :yes: Jeff

I dunno guys....consensus says they are Alcoas, but some are saying AR's or MT's..... there's a local wheel place I'm gonna run down to on Saturday and let them look at them to make sure. I've got a set of 5 Treadwright MT/R's on the way to me, and I wanna run them in a full rotation so I need to replace the stock steelie spare with one that matches. I'm running an HO pump assembly in my 87, it works fine. I just have to remember that "F" on the gauge means close to empty, and "1/4" is actually full. Jeff

That stud passes into the water jacket along with the #11 head bolt that's perpendicular to it there at the front of the head. If you screw it into the head too far it will contact the head bolt shank. You can use a short bolt, 1.25" or so, but you're better off with a stud and some red loctite.

good luck on that one Shawn......I had the same one snap off on both the 2.5 and the transplanted 4.0 in my MJ (and on my TJ, the rear one snapped off....). Since that's the front one, you have more room to work on it and can actually get a drill in there. Be careful not to snap off the eze-out/extractor inside it, or else you'll have to pull the head and take it to a shop to have it all milled out. BTDT. Jeff

if yer going to try to pull the wiring harnesses(es), you don't have to be pretty about it but you really don't want to cut anything either. A tip on the engine/under-hood harness is that it's basically two seperate main harnesses that join together via a series of connectors right around the ignition coil/relay center area. To get it all out intact, you need to seperate it @ all those connectors and then pull each half out thru the header panel area (after removing the front clip and headlight components). YOu have to pull the part from the relay center forward out thru the hole in the passenger side header panel and then back thru the hole in the driver side panel (detach the headlight subharness and remove it seperately). You'll need a 1/4" socket (or 5.5 mm) to unscrew the nut that holds the driver side-end of the harness at the bulkhead connector (on the firewall, which connects to the fuse panel inside) to seperate the engine harness from the interior harness. INterior harness is a bit of a PITA because you have to pull or roll the dash forward to unhook it from all the dash components. There's a couple of small bolts (8 mm IIRC) at the front of the dash near the base of the winshield that you have to remove, plus a couple more behind the vents at either end of the dash. Pull the air deflectors out of the vents to access those bolts. Have fun Jeff

if you have an open cooling system, you can relocate the stock washer resivoir to the passenger side firewall above the HVAC blower motor. It fits there like it was almost made to be there in the first place...... Jeff Image Not Found

I'm running 4 door XJ buckets in mine, but they are the "rocker" style, on the MJ bench floor brackets. Two things I can offer.....the rocker style buckets sit a good 3" higher than the regular buckets, and not having the 4 door forward-flip option on the seatbacks is a real PITA. The only reason I'm running them is I have an all black interior and I searched the 'yards for over 1.5 years trying to find black bucket seats. When I finally found a set I grabbed them. I would love to figure out how to modify them to make them flip, but I'm not willing to rip them apart in the hopes that I can figure out how. I'm hoping one of you younger fellers out there with more ambition than me will take the lead on that, figure it out, and post it up here for all of us to see how to do ;) Jeff

Doug, he's doing great, just on the one unit dose we're giving him. He's jumping around like he used to pretty much, less water intake (and discharge :D ). He goes on a daytrip tomorrow to the vet for the full monte so we can fine tune everything, but we're hopeful the dosage won't have to change or if it does not by much. I must say the injections are a bit more "challenging" now than they first were when he was not doing so well....it's not that he minds or even feels them now, it's just that it's harder to get him to stay put while I work the nerve up to stick him. I think he is beginning to associate needle-time with feeling better though (which other sugar cat owners said probably would happen, kind of like a Pavlovian response to associating something pleasurable to an event). Bummer is that we leave on Friday for our annual vacation, but the vet is going to board him while we're gone so at least we know he'll be in good hands while we're away. Longer term, we're both gonna have to reprioritize some things in our lives for his sake, but we're both getting to the point in our lives when that's seen as a good thing, ya know? It's that whole yin-yan (or is it ying-yang?) balance of life thing....:cheers: Jeff

The 79 bushing that kept popping up needed to be drilled. 74 has the correct OD and ID. Rockauto.com has the 74 CJ 304 bushing for about $5 and the roller bearing for under $3. X2, that's what I used when I swapped the 95 AX15 into my 87. Jeff

it's possible, but he's (only ;) ) 15.5 lbs...... The huge one on the right in the pic, Autumn, tips out the scales around 22 lbs and she's 5 by 5. We (had to) put down our oldest cat around 4 years ago, she was exhausted but her heart/lungs/all bloodwork were normal. She was 22, just ran out of gas. Even though we have self/free feeders out for dry food and water, they only eat about 1/2-3/4 cup of it per day. We split one can of wet food between them in the evening for "dinner" while we eat. They are just seriously lazy cats :D
