  1. Using tall nuts (double nuts, whatever you want to call them), then jammed with normal lock nuts.
  2. The lock nuts are flush with the end of the threads...
  3. I got mine made by Tom at Hell Creek. Told him I wanted the largest diameter u-bolts I could use on a stock MJ D44 using the late model MJ HD 1-piece spring plates and MT springs. They were perfect, arrived quickly, required no modifications, and were very reasonably priced. Had just enough bolt length for tall nuts with double nut lockers. That's what he does - leaf springs and all the associated parts.
  4. ^^ Thanks for this. Found my long lost stethoscope last week while cleaning the garage. Turns out my granddaughter was using it to listen to the dogs' heartbeat. All the injectors are happily clicking away and all sound the same.
  5. ^^ I just got an email notification your above post Pete. Maybe it's working now.
  6. I don't get them either and have tried everything I can think of..
  7. 31's.
  8. I like stock rims too. #1 for me is the 10-spoke Turbines, and #2 are the Ravines.

  10. I've always liked those slotted wheels. They are only 6" wide though... http://colorado4wheel.com/images/jeepwheels/xjwheels.html
  11. Nope. That's why MJ's are so cool. They are definitely not boring.
  12. What I don't understand is why anyone would buy a ZJ? Only kidding..
  13. Hmmm, I never noticed that. I'll have to check my spare switches.. Checked - they are 30505H Eaton switches and they have what looks like the Mopar Pentastar on them. These are the switches that toggle the each window up/down. As I recall I got these from a 93-96 XJ, so probably Mopar was making their own switches by then.
  14. Ford too. The distributor and some other electrics were Ford products on the Renix..
  15. Not a carved pumpkin, but....
  16. That should scare the crap out of the little ones beating on your door.
  17. What's the axle ratio of the donor XJ? And what ratio do you now have on the MJ?
  18. Thanks for the TJ verification Pete - knew about the JKs since I've had/have a couple and crawled around under them measuring. Would be a ton of mods required for an MJ...
  19. My fault - I'm totally ignorant on KJ axles. So anyone know what was the last Jeep model to have the non-alloy rear D44 axles? I'm guessing the TJ's....
  20. I was fortunate enough to locate an MJ D44 axle, but it took over two years and I had to have it regeared. My second choice was the Libby axle if I couldn't find an MJ axle because it's the perfect width for an MJ. Pete, how common was the 4.10 ratio D44 Libby axle? Rare animal? I have no clue...
  21. I have a Melling high volume oil pump on the stroker (not the Hesco hi-flow pump that's supposedly a blueprinted Melling pump for more $$). It's runs at about a 20% higher volume of oil than a stock pump. I'm reading roughly 5-10 psi higher than your posted readings Wahoo, but that's probably due to oil pressure gauge error only.
  22. What a major PITA that was Jeff - I admire you for tracking it down. Is this a KJ-only thing or only your KJ? If it affected them all you would think there would have been a tech recall, TSB, or some general notification for KJ owners.
  23. Mine do. Both sides.
  24. My shocks are OME (Old Man Emu) N35L in front (if you can still find them) and OME 60032 in back. Others that will work FRONT: OME N35 (firm) or N35C (Comfort) (13.70"-22.36") OME N39, (13.46 - 22.13) OME Nitrocharger Sport 60046 Light Load (13.15"- 22.24") Others that will work REAR: OME N30 (14.5"-24.3")* (96-05 Nissan Terrano R20) OME N40L (15.6"-25.8") (Actually a ZJ shock, bar pin needs to be pressed out) OME N40, 40C (13.2" - 21.9") OME N67L, (15.24" - 24.49") Jeep TJ Rear (Same bush as N40L) OME N95/N96 (14.13"-23.5") (Toyota F60 Land Cruiser) Bushing, M12x1.5 Stud Nut OME N190 (15.51" - 25.90")
  25. 24-1700 is correct for your 91 MJ w. factory air. The parts rendering is not meant to be a scale drawing. The compressor is on the passenger side on all 4.0 XJs and MJs.
