  2. This is like another "what is your favorite tire thread, or favorite oil or oil filter, etc." ad nauseaum. As long as the items have the club logo somewhere, are of good quality, don't shrink up, and have a decent color selection, that's all that matters. The rest doesn't matter to me.
  3. You're right. Junkyard piece only I guess. Are Jeeps the only vehicles that use the 2-wire brake pressure switch? Obviously they don't often go bad.

More impressive is that Tim is the original owner of this MJ. Well done.

  6. Yes, that's the same 4-pane slider I had installed. No problems with it.
  7. What did you finally end up with for your LO and HI settings?
  8. The member's name is husky410ohio.
  9. I never knew the glass of the stock slider was slightly curved. I replaced my original one-piece rear glass with a Lawrence 4-pane slider back in the late 90's and I've had no problems with it. Looking back I wish I had searched for an original, but the Lawrence unit has worked well and it's not a bad option.
  10. Sounds like a great plan mate.
  11. I really can't give any good valid reason why I quit so suddenly. It was on a typical morning after another particularly miserable night of hacking. I had not been planning it or set a date to quit, it just happened. I was trying to enjoy my usual morning coffee between hacks, and just thought to myself "WTF am I doing this? What's the point?" Put the cig out, grabbed the two cartons I always had stashed in reserve, and trashed them, along with all the ashtrays I could find in the immediate area. I mean trashed them out in the trash can, out of sight forever so I wouldn't be tempted again. Why this "revelation" happened on that particular morning of July 9, 2018 I have no clue. A day like any other. It just happened and I've been cig-free since and am confident I'll stay that way. There were a few shaky spots in the 2nd and 3rd weeks after quitting when the hacking became almost unbearable, especially at night, but I got through it somehow. I not even close to 100%, that will take several more years, but now I can almost jog out to the mailbox and back just getting slightly winded instead of having a near-cardiac event. Why the will to quit occurred on that particular day I have no clue, but I'm ecstatic it did. I hope the same thing happens to you guys. It's really quite pleasant sleeping through some of the nights w/o the hourly hacking spells and the horrible shortness of breath episodes. Doesn't happen every night, but I fully expect it will eventually. Go for it!
  12. Place an ad in the Classifieds - Wanted for an HO engine harness, preferably from a 91 MJ or XJ. There are a few vendors here and one of them will probably have one and can ship easily via USPS.
  13. The LCA rear mounting holes ares slotted. When you add shims, it increases the length of the arms and increases the caster angle. The opposite when you remove shims. Thus you can adjust the caster angle angle with shims higher or lower, and also equalize the angle on both sides.
  14. Look through THIS thread, around page 6.
  15. ^^ This. Amazon sells both the late model XJ fuel pump threaded nut and seal. You would have to cut a hole in an unmolested tank to use the late model pump. https://www.amazon.com/Mopar-5201-8808-Fuel-Pump/dp/B0049ESZUU/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1542042374&sr=1-1&keywords=5201+8808
  16. Thirty years - wow. As an ex-Navy vet I'm not even going to try any of my usual friendly Jarhead digs this time. Congrats on the completion of a fine long career shipmate. What are your plans for the future?
  17. I know another CC member who is just like you, Gjeep . His current build is HERE. I've always thought my work was semi-decent until I go through you guys respective build threads. It's depressing.
  18. No saws, wiz wheels, or welders needed. They are a one piece (each side) rail either chrome or black, and are attached to the body seam my these clips . Just pry them off carefully - you'll need to repaint when done.
  19. LED dash lights by themselves are either OFF or ON using the dash dimmer pot. Amazon and others sell devices that can be wired in and provide an isolated independent ground that will enable some LED dimming, but they still don't dim like incandescent bulbs. I wouldn't use LEDs w/o some kind of dimming circuitry - would drive me nuts..
  20. Just about any pre-airbag GM steering wheel from ~1970 - 1995 will work on our Saginaw columns. This is one from a late 80s Buick Regal..
  21. Nope. Read it again. I said it does nothing for the MJ aerodynamics, or lack thereof. But it does help with engine cooling at speed..
  22. Those are junk - another flimsy POS C.R.A.P. part. The XJ/MJ front air dam went through several part number changes, the last being 5EV24SX9 for the 1996 XJs. They are all interchangeable and compatible from 84-96.
  23. Got another couple of emails from Charlie. Not good. House, out buildings, and his MJ and XJ, all gone. Nothing left but the chimney and mail box. His family are all well and his son and family also lost everything. I received his permission to share what happened with y'all. We're wishing you the best Charlie. "Thanks Don, Like I said all my people are safe although my son and his young family also lost their home. Feel free to tell the story to the CC group. We're doing OK, have alternate housing and nobody is hurt or worse. The whole area is in shock. 6400 homes lost so we're not alone. Now to get to work rebuilding our town. Charlie, ParadiseMJ"
