  1. Yes, a CYOA move for sure. The two lines were in fact touching on mine and I wrapped them with slit pieces of 3/8" fuel hose at that point so they're well insulated from each other. I'm sure all the 2012-2013 JK owners did the same, right? NOT!
  2. Got one in the mail I knew was coming regarding the automatic transmission oil cooler tube rubbing against the power steering steering pump return eventually causing a hole in the cooler tube. I knew about this one months ago from reading JK forums and Chrysler finally made the formal recall after thousands of transmissions burned up. I have the lines tie-wrapped away from each other so they can't rub. Called the dealer to schedule an appointment and guess what? They don't have the parts yet to perform the recall. Until they come in, if they ever come in, JK owners are advised to keep an eye out for transmission leaks. This will really help someone cruising down the interstate heading for Florida or somewhere............ :fs1:
  3. Your back yard sounds like it needs some work mate.
  4. What year HO?
  5. How much up-down play did you have with the old ball joints? Looks like you may have had some as it appears the hole has been wallowed out a bit. Since you have already pressed them in, I'd use a washer thick enough so when torqued down the cotter slides snugly into a castle nut slot. Should be okay. Did you use an after-market ball joint set?
  6. You live in VB? Did they close the expressway to Norfolk? C'mon man............
  7. Good to hear Jake. I'm a believer in using OEM factory parts whenever possible if available, especially electrical parts. Costs more up front, but usually saves big in the long run. I have a stockpile of most all the Mopar electrical OBD1 stuff I'll ever need. Unfortunately it's drying up quickly, especially the Renix stuff.
  8. According to the Bilstein tech rep I talked to, your rear shocks are mounted upside-down. The correct mounting position for the Bilstein 5100 series shocks are for the writing and part number stamping on the shock body be right-side-up, like this, rod down:

  13. onlyinajeep726, you are correct. I installed an XJ power antenna in my MJ a few years ago, but did not document the wiring diagram. But from memory, the 4-pin connector goes to the antenna relay, the 2-pin to the power antenna, and the small spade connector goes to the radio power antenna output terminal; the other to ground. It is a factory part, as that harness came with the power antenna.

  15. These hard copy factory service manuals are exactly what you need, but those prices are crazy. If you are not in a hurry keep searching Ebay and you will find a much better deal.
  16. Who said anything about impossible? You need new HO brackets, belt, regulator, and ND alternator. Cheaper and easier to bolt on a built-up Delco.

  20. both the Willwood and the SSBC have pressure switches to control brake lights... I guess if I mess up on the flat spot during the dual conversion I have a back up option. Good point.
  21. On the SSBC block, is that a pressure switch for brake lights? That would be an extra expense since I can't see any use for it. I'd opt for the Wilwood since it's a proven product for less $$.
  22. It sounds like you're the joke. lol!
  23. Very splendiferous Bo. Nice chrome touches too.
  24. Sounds like you have the right stalk, but it's the multifunction switch in the column that the stalk operates that matters. The harness on the MF (multifunction, not what you're thinking  ) switch has an additional two wires for the intermittent function. Plus the switch for tilt and non-tilt columns are different too. Anyhow, you'll need the wiper module anyway. Stick it in there and hopefully it'll work for you. If not, prepare for digging into the column to change the MF switch. And that was a MF for me, and this time I don't mean multifunction. Take a peek at the bottom of your steering column and count the wires terminating in the flat connector that plugs into the wiper delay module. There should be seven wires if it's an intermittent MF switch.
