Ground wires within a harness most always are insulated. To me it looks like a strain relief wire for the harness due to the heavy gauge of the wire strands.
Not for your 2.5, but the following parts are desirable for the 4.0 owners you could sell off.
Brake booster and Master cylinder
Intake manifold
Power steering pump and bracketry
Throttle body

They are listed under Jeep Cherokee, part numbers CH1249106 (Right) and CH1248106 (Left). About $10/ea + shipping. I've used them; they fit pretty well.
I got a good deal on a set of NOS Mopar ball joints. Guess what? They came in a Mopar box but were actually Dana Spicer units. So the D/S ball joints are definitely my recommendation for purchasing.

Yes, the BD mounts should solve the tail pipe rattle because the engine can't move much. Then the engine vibes will be transferred throughout the body. BD mounts are great for offroad, but not for a driver.
I don't know about the 2.5, but they did vibrate a lot for me on the stroker. I even used their "soft" model. Replaced them with a set of NOS Mopar mounts - perfect. Do some searching - there's a lot of folks who have been disappointed with the BD mounts and junked them.
Yeah. The shock damper would be meaningless with Brown Dogs because there's no damping allowed using them. The whole truck will vibrate instead of just the engine. Brown Dogs - never again.
These shock dampers have been non-available for years. They were only used on the 86-90 2.5L models, and not installed on the 91 and up models except for some exports. The part number is 83500358. I think you're SOL.................
Now that I'd love to see. An 8.2 liter V8 in an MJ. :eek: You might have to do a little firewall modification and beef up the suspension a little bit, but it can be done. Think the BA10 Peugeot tranny can handle it?
^^ This. Stick a small flat blade screwdriver on the top of the vent between the vent itself and the bezel. Gently push the vent pin tab down while pulling the vent out at the top. Once the top pin clears the bezel, lift the vent up and out.
Too much pressure for the carbed 2.6 Jim and no regulator. New pumps are only ~$20 shipped on Ebay like this one:

On your 89 Renix the aux fan is triggered by the temp sensor in the radiator. Either the sensor is bad or you don't have continuity from the temp sensor to the aux relay.
Also your pic shows a 91 or 92 HO PDC (Power Distribution Center) jumpered aux fan relay, not an 89 Renix.
Slide a piece of heat shrink tubing over the coupler joint, plug it in securely, then slide the heat shrink tubing over the coupler and shrink securely with heat gun. Works well.
