  1. I'm curious - does your 92 use a 3-wire or 2-wire VSS?

    Finally...

    Just fixed your post Mike..........
  3. No worries. If you used the crappy Dorman replacement bushings, they won't last long. It's goes in much easier the second time around. Has anyone been able to find bushings from another source other than the Dorman junk?
  4. Check THIS out. Similar problem, same year...........
  5. These are the only grilles in the parts manuals shown for the 90 and below XJ, MJ, or Jeep XJ Wagoneer. :hmm: No 10-slots..... Here's a NOS one on Fleabay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-CHRYSLER-OEM-88-90-Cherokee-Front-Panel-Grille-55013146-/121345403920?fits=Make%3AJeep%7CModel%3AComanche&hash=item1c40bfec10:g:KM8AAOSw3ydVxw5B&vxp=mtr
  6. I agree it's probably wiring as these sensors rarely fail. Make sure the cable connectors are plugged in securely and clean on the cluster and that the speedo mounting screws are tight. Check the cluster's foil printed circuit for cracks and tears. I have a few of these foils if your's can't be repaired.
  7. Excellent - nice job. That will make a great writeup for the DIY. This might help - just found it. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1073406
  8. Crappy video: http://www.bushingfix.com/ SI2KIT
  9. mmm i gotta check that * no temp gauge just a temp light * $#!&... Swapping in a full gauge cluster is a good upgrade - easy to do also.
  10. Use the snake oil that's currently popular. What ever it is.........
  11. Cool. My next question was going to be the diff bracket.
  12. You still have the load sensing valve Adam? I think I see the rod connected to the axle. Or is it just hanging there?
  13. 53003805 is the correct pulley for the 87 2.5L PS pump according to the parts manual. Amazon has them among other places. https://www.amazon.com/Mopar-5300-Power-Steering-Pulley/dp/B0049EESWO/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Jeep%7C42&Model=Cherokee%7C347&Year=1989%7C1989&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&newVehicle=1&s=automotive&vehicleId=1&vehicleType=automotive
  14. Is that public land or p/o the base Bo?
  15. Not if it's adjusted correctly. The pics I posted above is where you adjust the cable. But since they stretch with use, the adjustment is normally to get the slack out of the cable.
  16. ^^ Correct, and I didn't know this. According to the parts manual the oil filter adapter change occurred on the models mfg. after 7-16-92. But the 91-95 XJ/MJ models used the same block (casting #53008405), so a simple change to the newer adapter will allow the oil filter to be mounted horizontally like in my pic above. Sounds like a good junkyard mod..........
  17. It shouldn't unless the column was really loose. Take a look at the shift cable where it connects to the column base under the dash too. It sounds like you might have a broken shift cable.
  18. It's possible, but not probable, that the truck driver that backed into you never knew it. Way back when I was driving a Sunoco tanker and maneuvering in the service station lot to dump some gas at night, I nearly totaled a VW bug backing up and didn't even notice or feel it.
  19. Crawl under and look at where the shifter cable connects to the AW4. Make sure the cable isn't broken and hasn't come off the adjustment clamp or the transmission shift lever. Looks like this:
  20. Commanche, eh?
  21. Get one of these, a Jabsco 17215-0000 electric drill pump or similar. I've had one for years and it's great for emptying gas tanks, changing the ATF, pumping out water from plumbing failures, etc. About $40 and worth every penny.
  22. Lot better than upside down. At least it's 1/2 full. But I agree - Fram sucks for more reasons than just the anti-drain back valve. I use the large Purolator filters myself.
  23. Indexed into the DIY Master Search List under "Brakes".
  24. Spicer. Whichever part number was recommended by everywhere I researched haha. Everything seems to line up right. Had no trouble.installing everything.
