  1. Where did your PCM come from, and what is the part number?
  2. Fools abound.....
  3. You never answered if the donor 97 was a running XJ. If unknown, you have no idea what you are working with. First thing I'd do is pull apart every electrical harness connection looking for unseated plugs, bent pins, then clean them all with contact cleaner. Any harness connectors or ground wires hanging?
  4. They are getting tough to find in good condition. I was able to score some NOS sets of XJ Laredo covers on Ebay a few years back - by some miracle it could happen again. The XJ bucket seats changed in 1994, so anything 1993 and below will bolt right in an MJ.
  5. Those seats come from a Laredo trim XJ or MJ. They had matching door panels.
  6. How much lift did you get with the Hell Creek rear leafs? And are your rear wheels still centered in the flare arch? A pic would be nice...
  7. Si Mike - those are the Teraflex shackles I'm using.
  8. Have you monitored the potentiometer output using an analog ohmmeter across the slider output wire to the gauge and ground? Empty (0 ohms) to full (89 ohms) And yes, I know you have done it with the fuel gauge.
  9. Game 2 was a repeat of game 1; the Sox winning 4-2 easily in the cold Boston weather. Today's a travel day to LA, so perhaps tomorrow night we might actually have a competitive game since it'll be nice and warm for the Dodger girls.
  10. ROL stands for Rusted Out Lights. They normally rusted out in a couple of years. Spring for the Marchals, or even some Hellas if possible.
  11. Me too. I seriously doubt there's anything wrong with the float as long as it's not hitting anything. It's something in the float arm, the pot windings, or the slider.
  12. I've had float failures with old Volvo senders; the fuel would eventually break the floats down and they would sink. But their senders were made by Lucas and all their junky products break down over time. Never had it happen in a Jeep though. Might be a dead spot on the potentiometer winding the float is hanging up on. You'll probably have to pull it to make sure..
  13. I was pulling for the Brewers too; would have much preferred them as the National League rep. Maybe next year...
  14. Even though probably nobody cares here, and since it's a slow night, I'll post the results of game 1. Basically what I expected, a blowout. LA was never in it. Most of them had never seen Fenway except on television, and the cold and crazies at Fenway blew them out before they even started. Kershaw, the LA's best pitcher, was terrible. His best days were long ago.. Good game though if you're a Sox fan, and I expect more of the same. LA might win one in LA, but that's probably it. I'd really like to see a more competitive series, but don't expect it. To be continued.....
  15. What Pete says. Don't be a caveman. Ford Explorer or ZJ or kit. Easy-peazy.
  16. Believe it - there were no bushings. A quick fix would be to order a short length of 2" - 2-1/4" adhesive shrink tubing caps like THESE and trim/shrink one around each of the male pins of the tailgate hinges. It may have to be replaced every other year or so depending on how much you open/close it, but it'll make it quiet riding on a cushioned surface. EDIT: Just ordered a couple of caps. Will post up when installed.
  17. It's about 1/2" off center is all G. And that bothered you? Wait - I know you. It did bother you. I would have preferred the rear bar to face forward too, but I saw no way to anchor the left side leg because of the big-azz 23 gal fuel tank.
  18. Those Wagner pads will go on either way. Drove me nuts for a few days... And there's nothing in the FSM statingany pad differences.
  19. Nice writeup. Did you know that some brake pads have different inboard and outboard pads? I'm still not sure if it's true for all of them, but it sure was with the Wagner pads I last used...
  20. 12.7:1 and is found on 93-98 ZJs.
  21. Si, I'd forgotten you used the stock wiring.
  22. Measure the eye-to-eye length of the LCAs and UCAs. Stock lengths are 15.75" and 15.00" respectively.
  23. Power window / door locks fuse? Got an aux fuse block somewhere?
  24. Yes, the vacuum reservoir is the plastic canister located behind the right front bumper in stock config. And yes, many relocate it into the engine bay, normally on the right firewall to prevent vacuum leaks that often occur where the vacuum line passes through the front bulkhead. This is how I did mine - lots of other ways to do it.
