  1. Read much? .......post #10.
  2. Added my pin to the map.
  3. I love it! So cool to find a super unique if not one of a kind MJ! I gotta say.... I'd consider this modification to my dually project if I could find another cab like that. I believe the builder moved the bed forward toward the cab a couple inches when they put this together. The rear wheel opening looks to be off center of the rear wheel. Rear bumper gap looks bigger than stock. Hope to see interior pics as well! Bravo to ya for snatching this up! Enjoy it!
  4. '88 Limited with........ 3,547 miles on it. Yep. Left in storage in Utah for a decade. Just a mere $14,000 to buy it........ http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?ownerId=66444643&searchRadius=0&listingId=381419918
  5. LOL........ Tires & wheels cost more than the MJ. let him keep them, give him $1200 for the truck. And....... upside-down grill......
  6. I'm gonna toss out a BIG word of caution about building a dedicated hard core rig using a badly rusted MJ. The uni-frame rails may look ok...... but inside, they're gonna be pretty bad if the rest of the truck is that rotten. Definitely look into plating and a tube reinforcement in the form of a fully integrated internal cage that spans from the engine compartment back to the rear of the uni-frame, if not an exo.
  7. Indeed, first decide how radical you're looking to go. Tire size, suspension design and internal vs exo cage work or a combo of both will be the bigger decisions to commit to when looking at your build. You can build a VERY capable rig keeping the rear uni-frame and leaf spring set up. But "truggy" generally lends it's name to those that cut the truck in half and build a tube frame and 4-link rear suspension in order to gain rigidity, wheel base change and articulation. This is a truggy that a buddy built, originally with D44 axles on 37's. It progressed to a 1-ton 44 front and ford 9" rear (when I owned it), Now currently using a D60/14 bolt set up on 38's. It's always been the same tube frame/exo set up with 3-link front and 4-link rear and has worked absolutely incredible on the trails.
  8. Picked up this POS trailer a month ago..... Image Not Found Wall art.....
  9. I bought my Eliminator and "raceTruck" stripe kits from him. Great guy to deal with and QUICK shipping from Canada. I asked him to modify the sporTruck stripe for my race truck and he had no problem doing it. I asked him to look into making the Pioneer stripes....very glad to see he has! I need them for my dually truck. Hell have to make the bed stripes a bit longer to go across the dually fenders and I'm confident he'll be able to do that. He has a contract to do all of the Gas Monkey Garage stickers and swag. His factory reproduction decal offerings are immense. Buy with confidence with Prop-Kulture.
  10. Got tetanus?
  11. Ok....... really?
  12. Yeah, Ken Block and BJ Baldwin top my most hated people list........... I hate them because they have my dream job. :D
  13. Saying Ford and Richard Petty in the same sentence sounds like a sacrilege. I remember him mostly back in the day dominating NASCAR with his Mopar Plymouth Superbirds and Dodge Daytonas. I was a closet fan then though of David Pearson, a Ford guy. I'm right there with ya Don. I lost interest in NASCAR eons ago when they quit using production cars. Seriously........ what's still Ford about that car? Nothing except the sponsorship. But I do gotta hand it to the drivers....... that's some brutal stuff. I got to go 3 laps at 200 mph in Vegas at the Richard Petty Driving Experience. That stuff is no joke.
  14. Sick. I sooooo want a trophy truck.
  15. I played with Rockwells briefly...... never got it on the trail. Costs were stupid expensive to get the thing put together with all the 4-wheel steer hydraulics, heavy parts, etc. And to be perfectly honest..... I took a step back and quickly realized it was simply too big for Colorado trails. The thing about going to an axle and tire/wheel combo that large is that everything attached to it needs to be sturdy enough to handle the mass and centrifugal forces they produce. This Blazer had doubled 205/203 T-cases, monster drive shafts and the largest heim joints available for the links. This Blazer has a boxed steel frame to build off of. A Comanche is going to need the entire unibody rail system plated, boxed and reinforced to be able to handle these axles. Hell, the axles and tires/wheels would likely out-weigh the entire Comanche...... Could you put Rockwells under a Comanche? Sure. But there would be very little Comanche left in order to build the structure needed to support them...... I had this MJ "Truggy" for a couple years. The new owner currently has a 14 bolt / 60 combo under it now. Those are almost too big......... But as you can see, lots of reinforcement is needed to sustain this kind of build and abuse.
  16. You should be just fine if you can find the setup for any year XJ Cherokee ('87-'01). No change to the front end of the unibody in that year range.
  17. Crazy clean! Someone's gonna end up with a nice MJ. The color keeps me from being over the moon about it, but it sure is in amazing shape.
  18. This is the pedal car I grew up with. My grandpa bought it for us grand kids to play with when we'd visit. Lots of memories. When I was in my late 20's, I asked if he'd kept it somewhere. He said he thought he sold it when they had a garage sale years back. When he passed, I went to help my dad and grandma go through things and come get the '46 Oldsmobile he'd left to me. My grandparents had a 6-unit apartment building with a 6-car garage behind it where he kept his car collection. When I went to get the Olds, I saw the pedal car stashed up in the rafters! It's now hanging in my basement "man cave" area.
  19. Are we STILL talking about this truck???? Y'all should be happy they're selling for big numbers......... Means the interest/market is growing which is both good and bad. Good that the trucks we have may be more valueable...... but the trucks that guys wanna buy will be more expensive than they've been in a while.
  20. Yeah.........That's not a "pop-up". Just a tall topper made from wood frame and aluminum skin.
  21. Was searching for a replacement trailer wheel for my car hauler and this popped up in the search. Original owner. Bought new in 1967 for his twin daughters who used it to haul their dolls and teddy bears up and down the street. Lasted about a year and they lost interest. Up into the attic it went........ until today. :D Stupid cheap too. Well, the guy knew what he had "I watch American Pickers and Pawn Stars.... don't low ball me".... LOL. But I got a real good deal. I'd never seen trailers for these. This Uhaul trailer is BUILT too...... twice as heavy as the car! They're both just in incredible shape.
  22. You'll need to cut off the spring perches from the 8.25, mount them on the other side and space them to the MJ leaf pack spacing - if you're keeping it spring under. If spring over axle, you'll need to re-locate the spring perches at a different spacing...... IIRC, the MJ's leaf packs sit narrower than the XJ's - might be wider, can't remember.
  23. This is pretty damn cool too........... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Jeep-Cj-theme-Suitcase-Boombox-portable-stereo-aux-in-auxiliary-input-/191318980526?pt=US_Portable_Stereos_Boomboxes&hash=item2c8b7ff7ae
  24. Jeep commercials at shows.....AWESOME idea! Cool find!
